Colour does not make difference here. Cheap zip ties are brittle where professional ones last. In my company we use white pro quality zip ties in electronics we manufacture and they will stand over time where black consumer level black zip ties broke easily even when new.

T&B black ties are the best for longevity. I would use PL glue. You don't want the inductor to move in relationship to the PC board. Any movement leads to cracked solder joints.

I'd solder it back in, secure a new tie, seep some super glue between the plastic flanges and board, then use some silicone adhesive between the coil and board.

Don't use regular RTV silicone, there are different types used in the electronics industry that don't use corrosive acetic acid as a curing agent. Nothing will stick to it either, messy stuff.

tie wrap and hot glue works pretty well many MFG's use it the less is moves the better, also have them check other solder joints , usually if a solder joint breaks its because it was a cold/bad solder in the first place. It happens. It could have also broken the lead and its still in the PCB .?

Got it fixed thanks to a recommendation from Tommy's Tone Shop in Addison, TX. Testing it now for the next couple of days.

Gigs Saturday. Not to mention March, which has a crazy schedule where I might be home long enough to get some clean socks.

IIRC, the black T&B ties are UV-resistant and the white ones aren't. Counterintuitive, that.

Hot-melt glue gets my vote.

Correct on the ties. The black plastic also seems to resist breakage better when they are cinched up tight.

I've seen hot glue let go from smooth surfaces such as PC boards, so I usually use PL glue for something I don't want to ever come unglued.
