So what's the stereotypical "Dad" amp?

Most "dads" that I know have the latest and, most importantly, lightest gear, so I'd go with a Markbass, GR Bass or Fender Rumble combo and possibly a matching extension cab....

Prompted by the dad-bass thread, and because we're all bored senseless, so it gives us another thing to waste time quibbling over.

I'm tempted to say "an amp," personally. So have at it!

Whatever amp goes with cargo shorts, New Balance sneakers, and baggy t-shirts. Its a complete package.

Friggin' HUGE output transformer in there, with the big aluminum heat sink bolted to it. The rest of the inside is mostly empty space with a couple PCB boards. I should probably just sell mine for parts while there are some of these still working, it's just a nostalgic paperweight now.

He says his still works fine, and he's gigged with it for years. But yeah - sooner or later I'm sure it's gonna bite the dust..

The cab look an awful lot like an EV TL-606, straight off the EV plan sheet . . .

Could be - I'll have to ask him the specs, etc. on that cabinet. I know it's got a 15" speaker - not sure the brand. I'll ask him.

He's pretty good at building these homemade cabs.

Oh man! I miss my 3500 Had it all throughout my 20s and into the 30s and sold it to "upgrade" to a more expensive Ampeg I never actually liked.
