My father is not what I'd call morbidly obese- in fact he's in very good shape for 87. He is very active, walking daily & hits the gym regularly. I'd guess he's 10-15 lbs overweight at the most.
I'm not morbidly obese, so no, I do not have sleep apnea.
My settings on my my CPAP is 18.
Troll much?
Eh, this sorta thing is probably why I didn't win class president in fifth grade.+1. My wife, who is very petite (5'3", about 115 lbs), has sleep apnea. She doesn't do well with the mask either, but uses it when she has to.
Personally, I think it's very poor form to go into a thread asking who has sleep apnea and intimating, after several people have answered in the affirmative, that they must be morbidly obese.![]()

How is sleep apnea treated?
The treatment of sleep apnea usually involves the following:
Weight reduction (over 95% of individuals suffering from sleep apnea are obese).

My understanding of the matter is that the majority of these cases are basically self-inflicted:

Sounds like, in lack of a better word, an ***hole for goin in a thread where someone's very elderly father is diagnosed with a sleep problem where he stops breathing while he's sleeping, to make fun of him. Everyone respects you for your contribution to this thread![]()
What makes you think that all obesity is self-inflicted? I have a thyroid problem, and even with medicine, I still struggle with lack of energy and a very slow metabolism. I hardly eat anything either. I'll eat breakfast, because if I don't I won't be able to function, and go all through the day until dinner time and eat something small. I'll eat a granola bar or 2 throughout the day just to keep my blood sugar up to par but I hardly eat anything over 2000 calories a day. I just love it when skinny guys think that all fat people just sit around and eat all day and don't do any physical work or exercise. Makes me want a donut.
....let's just ignore the ignorant comments, eh?
