Listen to Aenima for chorus. I think the second or third time into the chorus you hear him way up the neck hitting octaves, with chorus. Try playing it yourself, it sounds a lot different, that's what chorus sounds like.

Jimmy and Pupoopie also have boatloads of chorus...actually, most of the songs on Aenima have some chorus on it.

The second verse of "H." and the end of "jimmy" are the two most iconic to me. 46&2 is definitely all flanger.

How funny, never noticed the chorusization of it all, been listening to that album since the morning it came out (when I received a nifty picture vinyl thingy with it courtesy Best Buy). I was just jamming on H. right now, still one of my favourites basslines to play. At least I always knew that has a good bit of distortion in it.

To answer your question, I have never read anything by Chancellor about why he specifically chose the CE-5 chorus. I have looked for an answer to this question myself.

IMHO, he probably uses it for some of the reasons already mentioned. It is a very cold chorus, with not much movement. The CE-5 does sound a little brighter to me than the CEB-5, which is probably what he is going for.

The CH-1 is okay, but it doesn't have that edge or the thickness of the CE-5. I'm a huge fan of the CE-5 (and CE-2) on bass when I use chorus.

it doesn't just sound brighter - it sounds WAY THICKER (as it is a multi chorus), it's really an altogether different chorus even if it is in the same color boss enclosure. CEB-5 has long been popular on bass. It also has a hi filter, which the CEB-3 is missing...

This. I have the CE-2 and I much prefer it to any bass chorus I've ever played with.
