Double Bass Solano Basses

Does anyone here know or have contact with Rumano Solano? I have been trying to get in touch with him for about a week now with no luck. If you have any info, please let me know!

I have played three of Mr. Solano's basses and I was very impressed with them. They all looked great, played well and had amazing tone and dynamic response.

I'm a student of Rumano's and i have owned one of his basses for several years, as well as tried out different basses of his. Although it depends on the tone and style you are looking for, his basses are some of the best out there on the market if you are looking to spend 15k-25k on an instrument. His basses from the last few years are especially beautiful, both in appearance and tone. Although he can be a bit hard to get a hold of and make firm plans with, the end results are always incredible basses, both for solo and orchestral work.

Lucy, thanks for your comments! I am still looking around and I may pay a trip to solano's shop and hopefully play on one of his basses for myself!

I have been having a bass built by solano for a while, and he has been a pleasure to work with. He has kept me up to date with pictures bi-weekly. Soon I will see the finished product (which I will post when i receive). I think you should have a long discussion with him and let him know exactly what you want. He knows his stuff, and does a very good job at it. Ask lots of questions to both him and others, and be an informed consumer like I did.
