Jon Reshard's solo bass arrangement of Billy Joel's "She's Always a Woman"
I was surprised when I found this guy, he made an album with Greg Howe and seemed to get some good press coverage a little over 20 years ago. Somehow he didn't take off though.
I grew up watching Billy perform in Buffalo way back when with Talas. Such a great talent and showman, even back then! He was just here in Pittsburgh with The Fell about 5 minutes from my house, but unfortunately, I didn't catch them. Used to play "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" a long time ago, too!
The Fell are ok, nothing wrong with the music exactly. For me though its too modern in the sense that even musically, not just mix and mastering, its dense and doesnt leave room for the full Billy effect if you know what I mean. Not saying I would skip seeing BIlly in anything when given the chance, but by far not my favorite project he's done. Live I might dig it more though with just the single guitar going on.
