Solo bass pieces

I was trying to think of some solo bass pieces. Most of what I listen to falls into the rock idiom, and in that realm all I can think of is Cliff Burton's "(Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth." But Anesthesia isn't even a true solo as recorded, it has drum accompaniment!



What are some good solo bass pieces? Don't restrict based on genre, if it's good it should be shared here.

Victor Wooten's "A Show of Hands" record is all solo bass arrangements, and records after that included a lot of signature solo bass songs like The Lesson.



Michael Manring has an entire catalog of solo bass arrangements, seeing him live will show you things you never even knew a bass could do by itself.

These days, if you're into social media, Charles Berthoud is probably the #1 guy for super flashy solo bass arrangements.

This whole album is basically bass as a solo instrument but there is a lot of other instrumentation (mostly strings) but this song is the one I thought of off hand as just bass.

Check out Aram Bedrosian. Some beautiful stuff. I use variations on a couple of his pieces as transition fillers while the guitarist is changing guitars...again.

Amazing, on so many levels. The bassist looks like he’s had harp training. You need a superb bass setup for this; how do you even notate it?
