Solo bass pieces

I guess ya could consider this a 'cover', but it's Only bass, (maybe drum machine in parts).

STILL, quite impressive. (As if ya needed me to say it).

Starts getting nutty a little ways into it.
(It's not me, it's some guy I found on the internet). Charlie? or Chuck somethin? 🤔

Jonas Hellborg - the song “Roman” from The Silent Life, 1991 release.

However that song seems to have been removed from the album and no decent representation of this beautiful song online anywhere. What happened?

Why was this song removed?

His famous acoustic Wechter bass was named “Roman”.

Luckily I have a copy of the CD from 1991 which has the song.

…a mystery…

Check out the work of Damian Coccio:

Thanks for that. I am definitely going to adopt the pinch and pull he does while bowing. . Our very own @damonsmith has very interesting solo double bass playing. He gets sounds you'd never expect to come from a bass.. Looks like we are tunign this into a double bass thread

Here is one

Okay back to bass guitar. Andres has been one of my favorite "unknown" on the bass. He is a great accompanist too

I dont know if holds up for other genres, or even other artists, but I love watching Mr. Big shows from Japan were they actually pay attention to, and cheer for, Billy's unaccompanied solos.

I grew up watching Billy perform in Buffalo way back when with Talas. Such a great talent and showman, even back then! He was just here in Pittsburgh with The Fell about 5 minutes from my house, but unfortunately, I didn't catch them. Used to play "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" a long time ago, too!
