Double Bass Solo Strings Extended E - Help!

Hey folks,

Any recommendations for a solo extended E(F#) string? Last time I played in solo tuning I didn't have an extension, and I am not sure who even makes an extended F#...

Thanks!

The Regular Flexocor E/C gauge is a bit on the light side with that set. I usually use the Stark E/C to match the tension. I am assuming that the Reg E/C tuned up would match the solo tuning set tension wise just fine.

I only use solo ADG and leave the long E alone. Learn to play the few notes you might have in your piece on the E string up a step. It's not that tough -- and will save you some serious $$ not to mention saving the hassle of changing out that extended E. - Mark

That won't work for the Tubin concerto--I need the open E (F#). I got it figured out though...
