some head sounds nice?>---->

ok so let's say you suddenly found a thousand bucks to invest in your tone:D,and even tho' you desire to keep it tidy(small) and actually like combos(shame on me;)),since you may move to Montana or New Orleans or Reno(get the pic here?),,,

i can buy old used stuff and go nuts trying to be satisfied or,Acoustic,Hartke head/cab,older Peavey Firebass head is interesting and priced nicely,a cab to go along with and i'd be set:confused:
yes that's the question what would you do if ya wanted to move up from the garage band practice combo setup to a giggable setup that was portable in a mini SUV like a Ford Escape or Jeep Liberty(no i don't own either but that's next on the list)

winter's coming!,i'm selling cars,amps and getting ready!,,,been wanting a Peavey Tour TNT 600Combo but i'm hedging now that i've saved enough to buy one

so tell me!?

couple MIM basses,fretless J and a good old P Bass,love em both(i'm not ashamed:D

ok here's the scoop,i don't have a clue what i'm going to be doing this winter(not many do),my kids are raised and i've been invited to visit some folks i grew up with(facebook) so heck yeah why not!?,,i do autobody work(30 years) so sheet ice on the roads is my friend=$$$,i can go to Alaska or Montana where they `enjoy'? a nice cold winter:confused:or i can go south and enjoy a warm winter instead of the usual crap i have to endure here where it's `not to bad':hmm::rolleyes:

so,,`tidy'`handleable'`lightweight' is worth a lot more than some big old cabs and an ancient head,heck! i just might find a Honky-Tonk!:D,,(that's all i'm ever going to play is corner`pubs' and that's fine,it's never going to be my main income source,only my release from the daily grind:D)

ok lets get it on,thousand bucks,,what would YOU BUY?:bassist:

Used Markbass LM2 or Harke LH500 off eBay: 325. New LDS 15/6 cab: 700. Total rig wt <50 Lbs (WITH THE lm2) and toneful and loud enough for anything other than an large outdoor stage. I'd also spend 89 bucks for a stand to elevate the cab to ear level.

+1 on the equipment choices although I also like a good single 1x15 for the required specs

-1 on the speaker stand; own one and hate it as the bottom end disappears; suggest a 2"-3" spacer (wood or foam) under the front of the cab to tilt it up

I haven't notice a drop in low end out front, but YMMV. The downside of tilting is that I like leaving my head on the cab......and occasionally my drink as well....

Mesa Walkabout Scout all the way. I just bought a 12" version and the range of tones is very broad without ever losing usefulness/quality/appeal/just good bass tone. This combo is really great. 67 pounds, not bad.
