Some Help? Summing? Switch? Blend looper? Synth help?

I play a JazzV through a yamaha BBT500 with a BMS and a Polyphase and I want to get back to a more all inclusive line...

I've been figuring out what I need to be a precursor for a Pigtronix pedalboard...I figure that for now, it's a more attainable goal to spend around a grand on finishing off a pedalboard than $2500 on a bunch of new pedals.

I thought i'd had it figured out...

Bass>tone hammer (LPB-2 boost to start?)>OC2>bassballs

>amp

Amp>worm (multi mod pedal with expression control) >stereo pulsar (right channel*)

>Polyphase>

Polyphase effect line>amp

Polyphase Direct line>BMS>Frequency Analyzer ring mod>boost>volume>Stereo Pulsar (left channel*)

>[polyphase>amp]

So I'd have some phat gritty voicing before my amp and the onboard modelling to use as a tone or an effect (fuzz, dist, drive, modeling, comp).

I'd have a wah or phase or trem(volume) in the worm to shape a way too big fuzz or super fat low end amp tone going through the synth.

I'd have variable waveform generation (LFO or bite) with a synth/ring mod built into a feedback control.

I'd have sweep or envelope phaser at the end of the chain.

But...

*Stereo pulsar is mono in.

Is there a product that will sum a stereo channel and switch between the 2

What do i need to be looking for?

If I wanted the signal to go pulsar>bms>freq.>polyphase or pulsar>bms>freq.>pulsar>polyphase to have added grit that's one option, but with there being no stereo ins on these boxes my plan got kyboshed...

Even then, i have a BMS and a Polyphase, so i'M not crying over a lacking tone...

...but to overcome the challenges the current industry puts forth is fun.

I thought I'd have had it all figured out.

And remember that the worm also has a direct out...

Maybe I'd switch the worm and polyphase...agh.

I'm glad EHX has such a great line of useful tools. Pulsar's the only thing that seems like it would add the sawtooth grit i'm looking for...but there's no blend...

which products would allow me to blend a clean signal with other effects? Blend/looper?

so close. A little help?

Do you think this signal path would cause me any inherent problems?

Synth not being properly balanced?
Would a boost compensate?

Hmmm... So, let me see if I've understood: You have two paths of effects, one bass, and one amp; you want the bass going into both paths, and you want a switcher pedal to switch between path A, path B, and path AB. Yes? And you want blending on the output of the final path before the amp?

If you search on 'blender' you'll find many options for that part- my choice is the Xotic X-Blender, but many people are happy with less expensive options such as the Boss LS-2 or Barge VFB.

So you'd go:
bass --> input of blender
loop out of blender --> buffered or isolated splitter box (Lehle P-Split, Axcess buffer, etc.)
splitter output 1 --> effects path 1
splitter output 2 --> effects path 2

The effects paths need to be blended with an active mixer circuit to avoid signal loss and feedback. So the missing piece at this point is your ABY switcher, which has to be active, not passive; and ideally it would have adjustable levels per input.

The output of that ABY switcher would then go to the loop return on the blender, and the output of the blender would go to the amp. One of the reasons I like the Xotic blender so much is it allows you to footswitch between 100% dry, 100% wet, and whatever % blended.

As an alternate approach for the splitter and mixer segments, you could have your footswitch be at the inputs of the fx paths; for this a Lehle or other high-quality ABY would be fine, with no mixer functions. Then the outputs of the two paths would be blended by a simple mixer like (another) Boss LS-2. This method is easier to find the parts for, but the downside is any noise from your effects pedals would be cumulative in your signal path even if you only select one path to play through.

In any of these cases, you'll have a problem with levels, as there's no easy way to have Y be at the same level as A or B individually. So you might need to put a volume pedal between the blender output and the amp. Also you will run into phase interference issues. On a couple of blenders there is an option to flip the phase of the entire fx loop in respect to the dry path, but (a) that doesn't solve all phase problems, and (b) it doesn't solve phase problems between parallel paths within the loop. So you might be hosed in that regard. But it still might be worth experimenting to find out whether you like the actual results.

I want to have the tremolo before or after the synth and before the phase, with a blend control, making use of the direct out/

I guess it's the volume blend for the Synth and Ring mod that I was most concerned with.

Another way to envision it is the synth line INSIDE the tremolo, and to be able to blend wet/dry with the pulsar to really just be making use of the waveform for texture and not for a heavy effect

i plan on experimenting a lot. It's just such a long line that I don't want to have to always run through all of it

and I thought I could get away without having to buy an expensive looper system.

I'm brainstorming...hope to have another scenario for these units...
