Looks like your typical 6-string Bass with a remarkably short scale. ;D

It’s a “Billy Bo”/Jupiter Gretsch guitar, like what Gibbons plays…

Based on a design Bo Diddley concocted…

Yes, they made Billy Bo Bass…

But that’s not it. To my knowledge, a 6-string bass or baritone was never made.

Dusty always defaulted to ‘51 P style designs with his bases. Fur notwithstanding.

I think the problem is the three string six tuner guitar on the shirt about cool old bass players.

Not just six tuners. Body proportions are off and the neck is too short even for a short scale bass.

What bothers me about any message T-shirt of this ilk is the underlying indignant insecurity overcompensating, concerning getting/being old. Trying to justify one’s status just makes it worse…the defensive attitude invites more potential scorn. The more you act or present ‘old’, if that’s an issue, the more you are old.

And yeah, that artist(if there was one) was clueless.

Well, yeah, that’s the immediately apparent thing, but I was calling out the general mindset behind these kinds of T-shirts. It’s a different kind of yelling at clouds.

I’m playing at 74, still learning really, and don’t really see why that should be remarkable. I’ll take it though.
