They were serious and tongue-in-cheek at the same time, and were…get this…from NYC, part of the scene with White Zombie. Perhaps a little too ahead of the curve with the 70's retro thing, The Black Crowes(as Mr. Crowe's Garden)opened for them.

I'm 90% certain one of my non-musician friends said they randomly met one of the band members here in Los Angeles in the last 10 or so years. It was wild to hear that name out of nowhere.

Would've loved to be there for a Crowe's Garden and Slab show. Closest I got in these parts was a mid 90s band that never broke big called The Love Revival.

That specimen is likely a fake, yes. I remember seeing this ad in Guitar Player back when I was in high school (40+ years ago):

As you can see, it has four knobs (VVTT), not three. Also, the body looks quite different. If someone did find an original, as rare as they are, it would fetch a LOT more money. They have sent me five follow-up emails because I viewed it from link in original email, so I could copy the link to post to TB. They sound desperate to unload it. I wonder why?

If you look at the Trogly video from one of the early posts and the pictures I posted of the Stars and Stripes versions it looks like some may have had 3 knobs. Those may have been the Epiphone by Gibson ones or prototypes or something. I'm definitely not the Gibson expert.
