Something like RMI Basswitch IQ DI preamp?

I recently heard about this awesome pedal from a "Bass Whisperer" video on youtube and was really impressed with what this pedal is able to do. The preamp and EQ sounded great, and the ability to switch between EQs (switching between upright and electric bass) is crucial for me. However, the $600 price tag scared me away, being a penny-saving college student. Could you suggest some pedals that have a similar function for a lower price?

Thanks,
Brian

... you can have pretty much all that functionality and more (example: parametric eq on BOTH channels, not just one as on the Basswitch ... oh, and a power amp!) for about the same price with a gently used ShuttleMAX head and a Radial i/o.

Lehle stuff is gorgeous and well built, and I'm sure the sound is phenomenal, but IMHO, the Basswitch's price is kind of obscene. (Plus, it's huge. It would take up two-thirds of my pedalboard before connectors).

Sometimes I get angry ...

The Basswitch incorporates the equivalent of 2 Sunday Drivers, 1 Lehle Parallel L, 1 Lehle Little Dual plus a serial Loop, a studio grade Di with a custom built Lehle transformer and an (acclaimed) EQ section all this in Lehle quality (gold plated relays ....)

Now take your calculator and say the word obscene price again ....

Regards

Jacques

P.S.: And if you think its huge try to put all of the above on your board and you will see that we did a great job in achieving the package we did.

This post reminds me of a sportsman from your country who occasionally gets "a fire in his belly". Exchange rates are not friendly with the Lehle stuff. Its all extremely well made stuff and as a designer/engineer I have alot of respect.

Thank you, your mail helps to calm down :-). I hope it can be understood that I get angry when I am treated like being a thief.

Hi Jacques,

I just got the basswitch and I like what I’m hearing through the eq section!

Where is the equivalent of 2 Sunday drivers located in the basswitch?

John
