Sometimes Im sorry I picked up a Dingwall

Three years ago I started playing Dingwalls now I have six. I find I don't play my fenders as much cause Dingwall is like a Ferrari , Necks on my custom super p is amazing. I have become a Dingwall fan boy. Im waiting on a custom superPJ from John fox . I ordered the Ivan Model, you know the one that's a black burst with wengay neck. Just saying don't get a Dingwall. You might not play your others.

I do own 2 Dingwalls and they are really amazing instruments. But honestly, a P-Bass is a P-Bass and none of my Dingwalls sound like my Warwick Thumb NT. So ... yes, Dingwalls are at the very top of bass manufacturing and innovation. But they can't do it all for me. Variety is king.
That said ... no other bass I own has the ergonomics of my Dingwall SJ5 and the bridge on the Z3 is a work of functional art.

Didn’t realize DW did anything other than paint. And they look so nontraditional I didn’t figure I would like anything like these that you posted but those are amazing.

Dingwall have exceptional painting skills on exotiv wood tops. There are truly amazing designs to be found. Just look a their site in the Galleries ... even if you don't like their style or the multiscale thing ... their looks are stunning:

A friend of mine has a Dingwall fiver but he kept his fender PJ and his Rick 4001 for when he plays vintage songs or when I come with my wooden bass as per my avatar picture.

He uses his Dingwall for fast paced music and long solos and it sounds like the right purpose IMO.

Wait a sec...username references Ritter...Ritter basses cost $$$$$...do you own some Ritter bass(es)? Or are you just a fan of theirs? No wrong answer just curious
It's a surname... I know a Ritter myself from my previous work Depending on the date format you use Jume 1967 or 1966 July would be my guess.

But yeah 7 made in Canada Dingwalls is not cheap I think that was his point.

Pics of the stable would be great though.

I feel the same way about fretless. Since buying one 7 months ago, my other 4 basses just sit in their cases. I only let them out one at a time, every other week, and my ABG hasn't seen fresh air in over 2 years, may have suffocated in its case?

since I’ve started shopping for a 5 string I’ve wanted a Dingwall. The multi scale thing seems so cool.

But they seem a bit pricey so there’s been a lot of back and forth on my part, as I’d like to cap my budget at $2000.

I don’t want a Droc, but maybe a Super P could work. But I already have 2 P basses…

I think both Sire and Ibanez make a Dingwallish multi scale fiver? I think they are in your budget range too.
