OK only 9 songs, but would probably go over an hour, depending the song selection

Back in my Biker Band days, we used to close with a very unsuspecting tune

The Boys are Back in Town
We'd always get an encore

biker bars in my area are different now.....that used to be a great setlist ten/twenty years ago......these days, 90s (Staind, STP, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam,AIC, 7mary3, etc) with a little bit of the classic stuff, one or two southern rock songs, and some selected country songs sprinkled in goes over far better (and a lot of local bands havent figured that out yet)....maybe your area is different

makes sense to me: its almost 2020 - calendars dont care whether or not bands go with them ;)

6. Wilson Picket - Mustang Sally

Any Black Sabbath, "Sweet Leaf" I think would go over great, but the solo section is very difficult. "War Pigs"
"Fairies wear Boots". Sabbath is always fun to play.

Guess what...

Event Manager for the world's only Harley-Davidson Museum here. Yup, 11 years and counting. Lots of good suggestions so far.

Rules of thumb.
1) Nothing challenging - I once programmed a prog rock band. Surprised I still have my job. Stick to three chord songs.
2) Nothing that the lyrics aren't second nature to everyone at this point - If people don't automatically sing to themselves without even thinking, then it's the wrong song.
3) A touch of rebellion or nostalgia required - Don't, just don't, mention Elton John at the 100th Anniversary. Make is talk to their inner desire to be bad ass, sex-driven (either lyrically or gets the ladies dancing) and slow songs should pull at the heartstrings without being sappy love songs (e.g., Cats in the Cradle, Turn the Page, etc.)

I know this is a serious thread, but I can't help sharing my total first reaction to these types of requests is always something like what WON'T work, and in a special kind of way....

for this one, i suggest ONLY doing medleys that the band creates, such as:

1. Iron Man/Paranoid (i was in a band that did that as a medley and it worked great for college kids)
2. Bike/The Gnome (old Floyd)
3. Foxy Lady/Communication Breakdown
4. Suzy Q/ Radar Love

End early (rule violation) and curtain call with:

Born to be Wild with an improvisational (non-practiced) jam in the relevant blues scale for the key you play it in - BUT that would be in danger of "working" so for me it would be a closing medley of

5. Working Man/Revelations (Iron Maiden).

Have a nice day.
