Pleasant Valley Sunday - The Monkees
The song was co-written by Carole King and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967...I've long been fascinated by the band, ostensibly assembled for a TV show and not expected to actually DO something. Mickey Dolenz - "The Monkees really becoming a band was like the equivalent of Leonard Nimoy really becoming a Vulcan."
