I'm not seeing a problem with that. It's still a word. That kind of parsing has been done before, just not as much as lately. Nobody says you have to do it yourself or make your own play after another has done it.

Rule # 1. Using the previous song title, post another song title using one or more words from that title.

It doesn't say anything about where in the title those words are to be found, it only says that they be words.

Personally, I don't care what anybody posts. I am just pointing out that with all the new players, people are making their own rules and the game keeps going off track frequently with all the confusion. I am not the only player who has pointed out all the derailings.

Actually, nobody has made up their own rules. The parsing possibilities were always embedded in the original rules. They just haven't been explored all that much. I've noticed that there's always derailings when new people start playing. Apparently there have been several new people start recently so derailings can be expected. I don't see the big deal about derailings anyway, they're easily corrected.

It seems common sense should dictate. Parsing a word out of others, as long as the word parsed is a word, seems OK. For example, Ten from Tender (which started this whole issue) would seem to be fine, however Rain from Ronnie does not, because then we're parsing letters only, and Rin isn't a word.

No you can't because the word rain doesn't appear anywhere in the previous the title.
