The songs that get me weepy are the ones that bring out sadness, then compassion and finally, joy. There are others, but these really hit home for me:

I know, I know... I just remembered this when someone in this thread was joking about Eminem. But wow! What great lyrics set to a Powerful score by Dre. Whew! have you seen the new Chrysler/Detroit commercial using that same score. Strong!!!

It seems that as I've gotten older "pride" makes me well up more than sadness. When someone does something badass for all the right reasons I get misty. Who knows why.

For all the right reasons:
Smokey Robinson's rendition of The Star Spangled Banner/America the Beautiful that was played before game 5 of the '86 World Series. It is hauntingly beautiful.

For all the wrong reasons:
Rush's "Tom Sawyer" & Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock & Roll". Both songs make me weep as soon as I hear the first notes.

Before all the Rush-heads start mailing bombs to my house - I actually like Rush a bit, but that song has hit the upchuck reflex nerve since I first heard it back in the dark ages.

Haven't read through the whole thread so it may have been mentioned but for me:

Fleetwood Mac- Man of the world

Without fail. I try to avoid listening to it too regularly because I like that it has that affect on me and wouldn't want to ruin it, hasn't been an issue even if I've listened to it several times in a row.

As has been mentioned Johnny Cash's rendition of hurt has done it for me a few times, probably some others but nothing immediately comes to mind.

If I'm sad, Invisible Kid makes me cry. Mainly the slow bit where it goes "Ooh, what a good boy you are, out of the way and you're kept to yourself." and so on.
