I'm hip!! You know the Jeff beck fusion albums in the mid seventies had some really good funky playing too. I wonder who played on those??

i know wilbur bascomb did on wired and i think on blow by blow as well. On the live album with jan hammer, jan's bassist played.

I still recall hearing "You Know What I Mean" that 1st time & being blown away(actually dumbstruck)...you mean it's OK NOT to play on the "1"?!
Rough & Ready, the album pre-BBB had Clive Chaman on bass....nice work on "You Got The Feeling"(kinda-sorta Jamerson-esque).

Woodchuck-Funk n Roll was done by the group Quasar, that featured Funkadelic allumni drummer Jerome "bigfoot" Brailey and guitarist the late Glen Goins. The Sweat Band did have a hit called Body Jack with songs on the album produced by Slave leader Steve Washington. Ryme Tyme People is hands down THE funkiest bassline of Kool & The Gangs entire collection!!
