-Eric618-Actually John was in a band called Power Station that featured Chic's drummer the late Tony Thompson, and vocalist Robert Palmer. Bernard produced a lot of that material, I also heard some of the songs on the first album were reworked Chic "outake" songs that were never used by the band.

basically. sister sledge is produced by chic. chic(nile rodgers and bernard edwards) did all the instruments and wrote the songs, the sledge sisters just sang. but on the chic albums they had different singers.

your best bet is to buy a record player. I buy records for $2-3 a pop and get a lot that aren't even on cd. Plus, if the record player has audio out, you can hook it up to your computer and rip them to mp3s. I have a itunes library full of sweet motherloving funky jams off records.
