Songs With Great Funky Bass Playing!!!!

-Eric618-Actually John was in a band called Power Station that featured Chic's drummer the late Tony Thompson, and vocalist Robert Palmer. Bernard produced a lot of that material, I also heard some of the songs on the first album were reworked Chic "outake" songs that were never used by the band.

Scorpio was played by Babbitt, or so he says on Standing in the Shadows...

I love this type of funky bass, but I don't want to go out and blow a zillion $ on buying up all the old albums.

Anyone know of a decent compilation type CD that is loaded with superfunk bass?

Stone Jam - Slave : pretty straightup line, but FUNK-KAY. I get my squished up Funk Face on when I hear it!

Munchies For Your Love - Boosie does an "orgasm" like I've never heard anywhere on any instrument.....

Question for y'all since I'm so "unlearned and unheard" in this realm, .... I bet a Limewire subscrioption wouldn't get me the play list y'all just outlined would it .. ? Another way of asking Cristo's question above I guess,....

your best bet is to buy a record player. I buy records for $2-3 a pop and get a lot that aren't even on cd. Plus, if the record player has audio out, you can hook it up to your computer and rip them to mp3s. I have a itunes library full of sweet motherloving funky jams off records.:)

and no i don't know of a cd like that.

basically. sister sledge is produced by chic. chic(nile rodgers and bernard edwards) did all the instruments and wrote the songs, the sledge sisters just sang. but on the chic albums they had different singers.

so chic is made up of nile rodgers and bernard edwards, and sister sledge is made up of nile rodgers, bernard edwards and the sledge sisters, but the albums nile rodgers and bernard edwards played on with sister sledge, they will be sister sledge albums tho right? not chic albums? also did chick have seperait alums from sister sledge?, did they even right the lyrics? nile and bernard that is
