songs with wah

"Urotsukidoji" by Testament, with Greg Christian on bass is really amazing.

"My Wave" by Soundgarden. I don't that's technically a wah, but it's got very similar features and it's a really thick, musical bass sound.

If I may be so bold as to include a song from my band DISKORD's debut album Doomscapes, check out an MP3 from the song 'Cosmic Collapse' here: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

<shameless plug>If you like it, feel free to order the album from e.g. Link Removed, or PM me. The album has got more songs with wah too :D</shameless plug>

Old school: Weather Report's [pre-Jaco!] album 'Mysterious Traveler'; song is 'Cucumber Slumber'--which every one of you should listen to anyway for its killer sliding groove lick in E, plus the super-funky stuff in C#, which goes to wah pedal maybe halfway thru the tune.

Don't even think you be funky if you ain't heard this.

Had to look this up... awesome. :bassist:

I'm trying to remember a thick and chewy (and also melodic) riff in a Billy Squire song I heard in the 1982 MTV concert. May be a lead into "In the Dark". I think it was wahed out if memory serves me correct. I listened to that over and over.

I know, I know....but his eary stuff really did rock; He sang like Plant from Zep AND played the guitar!

Took me 20 years to sing and play riffs that have absolutely nothing to do with the melody and pull it off well. I have a lot of respect, even though his later stuff was just lame. He was actually a hold out from the dying late 70's rock era and crossed paths with that weird 80's stuff like wearing ripped T-Shirts and crawling around like a girl.

I saw his video for Rock Me Tonite and I lmao! That's the mental image these people must have when I tell them I like Billy Squire. That explains the sour looks.

Can anyone help me out with that song????? Those brain cells are long dead.

I know Billy Sheehan did a lot of crazy solos.

Can't say I know for a fact he was in the band in '82 and I don't feel like looking it up.

For anyone who hasn't seen Billy Sheehan wild bass solos there are a TON of free instruction by him posted all over youtube.

There's great wah on this...

The latest Mars Volta album belam in goliath has some awesome wah work, as do most of their albums.
Also my band (shamless plug-I can't help it) Prince Katoco uses one (well I use one) on Axiom, download it free at Link Removed
Didn't Jimi Hendrix once use one or somethink? :)
