Songs You're Embarassed You Like ....

If you like the song year 3000, at least listen to the real version, by an actually good pop punk band - busted - THEY HAVE A BASSIST haha. They are much better song writers, and can actually play their instruments well. Here's the busted version -

I file 'em away under 'guilty pleasure's myself' Stuff I won't generally admit to or mention when hanging with my sophisto-jazz buddies. I can totally relate to this thread.

Most anything by Warren Zevon.
Cry in your beer, corn ball country - maybe it's just a phase...
Walter Egan (Magnet & Steel)
XTC - the early weird days (Oh, Heli, Making plans for Nigel ...) kinda prior to them becoming the next new thing, a long time ago.

Local punk from the distant past - New Johnny 5, The Reducers, The Neighborhoods, Blotto ...

Don't get me wrong I dig my Chick Corea, Pat Martino, Art Pepper. Dexter Gordon, Dan Hicks (had to slip that in there ...) but sometimes only the guilty pleasures will suffice ...

Can I file Galactic under Guilty Pleasures or are they too main line these days ?

I like Creed, 5 for fighting, Fergie, Avril Lavinge (sp?), Van Morrison(brown eyed girl!), Mustang Sally, Journey, I used to like the Jonas brothers (but I lost interest)

I don't know if I am embarassed but some would think those selections are questionable ...

But I also like the Beatles, Rush, Yes, Cream, Tull, Pink Floyd, Green Day, Collective Soul, 3 doors down, and many other bands ...

daft punk.

oh the faces people make when i say i like them

"Can't Get You Out of my Head" by Kylie Minouge..:hiding:

Really, I can't stand it but its so catchy!

You guys shouldnt be embarassed, I love techno stuff like daft punk, crystal method, fatboy slim, etc. I go wild whenever smack my bitch up comes on. Love that song, but not ashamed, guess I dont hang out with people who would berate me for my musical choices.

I'm going to let it out of the bag. I'm embarrassed that I like older 80's bands like Toto, Duran Duran, and Men At Work. Not all of their stuff but some of it. I especially like he song "Africa" by Toto. Those guys were some smoking musicians. Too bad all the 80's pop music was so overly processed. Also, older Beastie Boys ablums like Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head were cool too.
