If they do a pre, it just may dethrone my db659. The past couple of years have been really good for bass gear!
It will be available as a preamp or full on amp. The dimensions were based on the full amp.

I really like the IcePower 1000 which puts out 1200 into 4. They're coming out with a new 1200 watt amp soon---it's an option. The 1000 will be available for quite a while if we prefer it to the new one.

That looks unreal. Description - which I could barely control myself enough to read through - sounds unreal. Selectable HPF sounds cool. Harmonic generator sounds more than a little exciting, particularly given that it "doesn't track like an octave pedal" but is if I understand right, manifest immediately. It is *so* unfair that people in Nashville and Nashville (NC?) are going to get to try this before I do!

Mike (or anyone that can answer -- though I'm not sure who else that would be), will the preamp and/or the amp have provisions for rack-mounting? I know that a lot of folks will prefer a stand-alone format, but I just want to know if it will be a possibility (might apply more to the preamp).
Also, will there be an effects loop or aux-in?
When switching from triode mode to pentode mode, will there be a momentary "safety mute"?

Just curious who here would be interested in this amp having an FX loop or not. My understanding is that its on the table to add one if the interest is there. I know where I stand on this, but I'm curious if anyone following this amp project has strong feelings one way or another.
A: No effects loop
B: Instrument level effects loop (for pedals)
C: Line Level effects "insert" effects loop - balanced TRS connection (for line level "rack" gear)
D: Effects what?

Whichever would let me add a second pre amp for doubling gigs. I have no doubt that this amp will be good for both bass guitar and upright, but it is probably beyond my wit to adjust the controls between songs. In any case I might want to do a dual channel preamp (mic and pick up).
