Sonic Research Turbo Tuner new ST 300 model

The Mini ST-300 is what I been waiting for.. usually you put it first in line or after a volume pedal- try a hilton Volume pedal.. if you guys want a great chorus get a taurus Mult Chorus.. work great even has an enhance knob.

Nothing wrong with my ST-200 but still I want one. I wonder if the display will be any bigger on the non- mini version? The size of the screen on mini looks fine but that's maybe the only reason I can find to hold out (I don't care about battery power).

I can't imagine needing anything faster than the ST-200, and not using a pedal board, size is not an issue so preference for me would probably still go in favor of the larger screen on the original ... also, the convenience of not needing a power supply (mini is not battery operable)

JMHO ...

One person beta testing the ST-300 Mini has said that in addition to it being smaller, brighter, faster and more responsive than the ST-200, it handles bass tuning better as well. Not sure what he meant by that (he said he wasn't allowed to say more).
Roger from Sonic Research wrote in the same thread about the improvements, but did not mention better bass tuning, so… ?

Oh, but Roger did say that the ST-300 used relay switching instead of the 3PDT switch used in the ST-200. This is going to be great for me, because I can hear my ST-200's switch every time I press it. Supposedly, the 3PDT switch is silent.

I agree that the ST-200 is quick, however, I just got off the phone from ordering an ST-300m and asked the gentleman about the speed of the 300 vs. the 200. He told me that the ARM processor in the 200 is older technology (2006 maybe?) and that the one in the 300 is much more powerful. He quantified it as follows:

ST-200: Analyzes the waveform in 10-15 cycles.
ST-300: Takes only 2-3 cycles to analyze the waveform.​

The faster processing sounds good but in addition to the smaller form factor, the biggest attraction for me is being able to read the display in bright sunlight. Most of my gigs are outside at wineries, civic events and fund raisers. I pre-ordered a ST-300 and will be putting my beloved ST-200 up for sale. It will be a good deal for someone who mainly gigs inside or under a tent/protective cover.

Thanks for checking up on this... I've been looking for an ST-200, saw they were out of stock (have been for a couple months now), and was worried the company was going out of business. Glad they are just gearing up for more awesomeness! :) Guess the sellers on Amazon hawking the ST-200 for $346 will be disappointed.

Regarding switch noise... do you mean it's an audible noise due to the switch actuation (the typical "clack" of an effects pedal) or does the pedal actually insert noise into the signal chain?

I should have bought a new ST-200 when I had the chance.
The 300 unit is absolutely useless for me without being able to run off of a 9-volt battery.
Smaller is not always better as I think MOST bass player do not have pedal boards and who wants to carry a wall wart for just 1 or two pedals?

I would guess if you're open to a used one there will be a few ST – 200s popping up in the classifieds soon.

I believe Sonic Research is starting with the mini but will have a battery operated model releasing later.

Ironicaly, I was just on ebay!
How much better do you guyls like the Turbo over the TE or other floor pedals.
(Asked the guy who still has a Conn Strobtuner from back in the day).
