Soundblox Pro Bass Envelope Filter

Hi all,

I'll be picking up my BEF Pro from the post office tomorrow and was wondering if any of you have opinions about the expression-pedal wah option...

I have a Crybaby Bass Wah on my pedalboard - which I, admittedly, don't use very often - and was asking myself whether using the bef pro's wah capabilities might be able to replace it (on those rare occasions that i do want a wah)...it would make sense board-economy-wise...

Also: Am I in the right thread for this?

I recently redid my presets, and now my first one is set for wah with my Moog EP-2. I've still got my Crybaby, but that's just because I haven't unloaded it yet. I haven't used it in maybe a year. The BEF Pro works great once you dial in your perfect sweep range.

Hey guys... not sure if this thread is to old but I thought I'd give it a try.

Basically - I bought the BEF pro last week over in the UK (bass direct) and seem to be having bleed effect problems. As in - when I bi-pass the BEF, whatever effect I've been using still bleeds through into my signal. I haven't contacted the shop I got it from yet as it's the weekend - so I'm sure they'll sort it when I give them a shout - but is there anything obvious I can do? I've tried factory reset and still the same issue. The tap tempo doesn't seem to work at all either? Any ideas?

Also... all you whizz kids out there who know this pedal back to front... I think it'd be great if someone could make a vid of how to use each of the effects within the BEF - envelope/LFO's/Expression pedal/storing presets etc etc. I'm SUPER technophobic... and reading the user guide just confuses me. So I turned to youtube but there only seems to be demos of 'what' the pedal can do... not 'how' to do it. Now I know loads of you are thinking... this pedal is super easy to use... what are you talking about lol! So - huge apologies for all you technological geniuses out there - but I need help :)

Any advice welcome guys!

Scott.

Have you got this figured out yet? For whatever reason, I can't seem to save presets on mine. I tweak the settings, dial in the sound, press and hold the switch until the LED stops blinking....but when I come back to the switch the setting is gone. I can't figure out what the hell I'm doing wrong.

Edited to add: and just like that, it works. I tried to save again and this time everything saved, including my backpage settings. Weird....lol. Don't ask me man, I'm just the bass player. :)

Having the same issue here. But its not the backpage settings that dont safe its the frequency and sweep range settings, which really sucks. Does anyone have had this problem and solved it, or is my unit broken??

Jesse may be finishing up a nifty little PC app to help us share patches. But not everyone will have a midi-usb gizmo to connect BEF Pro to computer. So lets start a thread, maybe just snap a pic of the pedal face in backpage mode?

I picked up one of [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] cheap little buggers and have found it perfectly useful for editing the BEF Pro's "User" LFO wave shape. Presumably it would work for sharing patches if that app ever becomes a reality.

Your idea is great in the meantime, however. Could always use more ideas for presets! :bassist:

I had (what I think sounds like) the same problem. I got my pedal nearly a year ago, so I assumed it was early hard/software. I had to return it to SA in the US, but they sorted it and its been fine since. And to echo what everyone else on here has said, Jessie really does rock.
