I've been on and off TB for a couple of years because of the same reason: threads like 'whats the best pick for metal' and 'Sadowsky v Squier how do they compare'. To many noobs with sometimes questinable questions. DO A SEARCH NOOB. One of the main reasons why i was here was to cure some gas virtually, but for whatever reason I'm not gassing any more for much and am just happy with the gear I have. It's not much, but it's all high-quality and whenever I try something else I realize that it doesn't fit me as well as what I already have.

Oh, nearly forgot, joining a band, playing concerts and having recording sessions is much more fun than TB.
I'll probably be here for a week and then get tired of it again. If you have specific questions about bass gear, music or recording TB is an excellent pool of knowledge though.

I have been on talkbass for long enough that I have seen a lot of the same questions over and over, but I try to answer patiently because I think back to when I was a new bass player with more questions that brain cells and people patiently answered my questions even though they had probably heard the same questions a million times before

And if one ever finds themselves in the position of being a teacher, every time a new student appears, the same or similar questions arise and the same skill sets must be tought over again. If you (the OP) don't have the patience for this, don't be a teacher. On this forum, you can skip the question in hopes that another member with a bit more patience will help.

And that's OK. Spend some time in Miscellaneous and Off Topic, or Gig Stories and Humor.

On the other hand, when a new forum member creates their username and password, perhaps there should be a series of checkboxes, one of which has them agree to try the Search functions a few times!
