Am I the only one who searches the threads and finds very little to respond to? Maybe I need to take a break. Everything seems to be rehashed over and over again.

What is the best amp for............

Recommend the best amp for..........

10's, 12's or 15's? Tell me what to buy.

I need a vacation. You?

I look at rehashed thread titles and then look at who made the last post. I can usually predict pretty accurately what they say. It's sort of fun, sort of pathetic, makes me want to go practice instead, so it's good.

Count me in as well. All of these questions have been addressed 100+ times. The least used button on this board is the search button. I think at least part of it is the young culture. Expecting, even demanding instant gratification. Expecting others to just tell you what to do or do things for you. Doesn't seem to be much curiosity, ambition or independent "I'll take care of this myself" type attitudes. Maybe just laziness. Rather have somebody else look up or explain stuff for you when the slightest bit of effort, meaning just a couple more clicks, would've gotten you the info you wanted.

Nah, 'tis the season. We all can get a bit grumpy this time of year.
There are a lot of noobs asking questions that've been hashed out time and time again. Hey, we were all noobs once, and TB has always been a place where we never slap folks around (too much) for not searching.
It's the age of posting from the iPhone and not wanting to waste the OP's time, but wasting our time is OK. ;-)
Maybe just pick a forum or two and hang out there. Or better yet, start up a couple conversations in line with your ares of interest.

There's definitely a high junk factor here. But, there's life here.

It's always a trade off. The flip side would be a forum where there's very little activity. I have been in those, too.

With this place, no matter how often you check in, you will find a few pages to read. Plenty of junk :) among the pages but something to read when you're looking for some quick entertainment.

Age may be a factor, but ignorance can come in many different forms. I'm only 19 and I haven't started any redundant threads (or at least not that I know of/remember). Perhaps it is the culture, but don't blame it on age. Not to mention, I'm going to have to deal with these people the rest of my life. :help:

Just think about how frustrated guys can get like BFM , after patiently answering the same questions week after week after week, sometimes two or three times in a week ! There should be a sticky at the top of the page about mixing different sizes of speakers, and under/over powering a cab. Apparently, very few use the Search function, or the FAQ.

I have to agree with the OP. I'm not a frequent poster, but frequent reader and searcher. But that said, I find that searches can be a bit of a problem. It can take a while to sort through the chaff for the kernels one wants. Part of the cause is, no doubt, the many threads on related/similar/same topic/s. There is great info on this forum, and many knowledgeable participants. But searching through can be difficult. Perhaps our instant gratification mentality makes one impatient so they post instead of searching.

people ask the same questions over and over again because the enjoy the social aspect of having someone reply to them personally, whereas the search function doesn't feel as much like you are getting to participate in the community. if you look at my profile, you will see that i hardly post at all (read: i use the search function often)-- that does not mean that i don't wish i had been around when some of these topics were being discussed for the very first time... besides, maybe someone with something new to say about an old topic would be more likely to reply to a fresh thread than resurrect an ancient one. just sayin...
