Yeah it’s trial and error with muting and how staccato you need to play. Will depend on what’s going on per patch. Which is normally a lot with these pedals. Everything and two kitchen sinks. Honestly, the C4 is wasted on me. I get as far as a nasty saw tooth synth and sit playing that for hours grinning like the village idiot

ha ha! yes good to get swept into some 'twilight hypnosis'.....
I find it helps to get some interesting beats going in ableton, some 'marriages in heaven'

I don’t know about android (I guess it’s probably easier!) but on iPhone a proper lightning to usb adaptor and then the usual usb a to mini b cable and the neuro app - works nicely!

Is there a specific order to quit the Neuro Desktop / unplug usb / turn off C4 ?

I'm getting the msg 'Another App Running', when I try to start the Neuro desktop on a fresh session. I have to restart my laptop each time, which is a drag. I dont have the Neuro App running on phone at same time.

It used to happen initially with the UW, but seemed to improve. I go in this order:
press footswitch to deactivate pedal > Quit (on software) > unplug usb

any tips please? thanks!

It sometimes happens. No need to restart - open the task manager and select the Neuro instance that is running and press “end task”. You can then relaunch neuro just fine.

I have the same problem. I'm running Windows 11. Nice to know I'm not alone. As suggested I close it through the task manager.

I will start with the second question first. You can assign parameters to tweak to the top level knobs. Limited, but might help. Alternatively, connect your phone (iPhone or Android) via a USB cable directly into the pedal (new feature we added recently). It is not bulky like a computer, and you can get all the same reliable bi-directional communication and editing. Hopefully one of those ways works for you.

Second. Here is a list of all the C4 community presets that have "808" in them. Some have soundclips, including the top one was created by @sifrancis who is a totally badass player, preset creator extraordinaire, and an increasingly important advisor to our development team when it comes to new products.

Spent my first week with new C4.
Its an absolute beast of a pedal. So pleased I went for it, having deliberated for months and uk prices shooting up. Dont have tons of spare time atm (one reason while i deliberated). So happy to pick through existing presets for now. Some truly fantastic sounds.

2000+ presets on community is awesome, although a bit overwhelming.
Want to learn gradually, so I'm going old school, with a notebook, to classify synth sounds - pads, leads, octaves, envelope filters etc etc. Build up folders on pc. Super organised !!

Im intrigued of the potential combinations of C4 + UW. Cant yet get my dull head around what best elements of each would be good to combine. C4 already has distortions. Any particular ones that you want to share guys?

I’d be inclined to spend some quality time getting to know the C4 on its own first as there’s plenty to keep you busy there for a good long time. It also has a fair share of distortion engines. Try those first and then branch out if you feel you’re missing anything further. The UW is quite a step up in terms of complexity (at least for me). Although I beta tested the UW, since its launch @GMC has got way deeper into it than I have and is better placed to guide you through getting the best from it. Happy to talk C4 with you as I spent a long time exploring that pedal during lockdown and shared many of my discoveries with the Neuro community.

The C4 is more intuitive, having spent time using the Neuro Desktop with the UW. But bound to be little confusions here and there.

Yeah, you're right, no rush to get overly complex trying to combine both, when there is so much scope with the pedals individually. Maybe we need another lockdown (not) ??! I got stuck into ableton during my lockdown.... Fantastic program.

Is there some secret to this other than selecting the “burn” function and assigning the toggle position?

Shouldn’t have to mess with the toggle switch, once you hit the burn button, a menu should appear for the location in which you want to burn the preset to the pedal.

It does, and then it allows me to assign where it goes but the sound won’t copy onto the pedal.

I’ve tried turning the pedal on and off but nothing seems to be copied on it other than it’s original presets.

Are you hooking up via USB or audio cable? If the latter, perhaps the volume isn’t high enough. There’s a calibration tool within the app too I think.
