Source Audio Club-

I am only slightly jealous.

Question about the Multi-band EQ pedal...can it have a gain knob? The MXR M-108 has caught my attention as a potential competitor for my new EQ pedal. The presence of the gain control, though I don't play distorted, could help me to bring my bass out a tad more over not being able to enhance/remove gain.

Yes, there is a level control for each preset on the small EQ pedal. So, you could have one preset that is a flat EQ, but gives you boost, for instance. This is the same thing that we put into the Pro series in the "Clean Boost +EQ" setting. Having level controls is really nice when you are dealing with presets.

Just joined this board and subscribed to this club. It's strange that a few weeks ago I bought the Bass Distortion Pro(which I love) and two days later I met Chris at a local music store. I figured I should stop lurking (several months now) and join. I am now, like many others here, eagerly waiting for the Bass EF Pro. Not to brown nose, but you guys(and gals?) are a great group of people. I've been playing for 26 years, but feel like I've been under a rock after reading through the forum.
I do have a question about the morphing capability. In the manual, it recommends a passive exp pedal. In searching for that, I don't come up with anything specific(unless I goofed up). Can someone suggest one or two to check out?

Helllo gentlemen,

We have been considering filming some jam session videos to showcase the pedals in a live music setting. Our essential idea is to get film an 'all Source Audio pedal using band'.

So, to get your input, we tied together the Multiwave Warehouse Session videos into one long form video.

Our goal is always to create a video that people find both informative and at the same time, entertaining enough to be worth spreading around/sharing with friends.

So what do you guys think? Would this be a good format to add in addition to our existing product demo format or would you rather see us focus on other things? If so, what?

No, this one was filmed about a year ago and we were marketing the pedal for the first time...so we were more focused on the the crazier sounds than the subleties of the pedal.

However, I was listening to Raphael Saadiq's new CD on the way to work today (any fans?) and I was thinking that people really might like to hear a quick transition from a high-bass/low treb Motown sound to like a high-mid rock tone using the EQ. Thoughts?

I think demonstrating the capabilities if the EQ alone would be a fantastic idea. So far I have had the EQ set pretty flat, using the boost simply to help drive my filters, which it does very well. I have had this pedal for several weeks, and am still experimenting with the distorted sounds, with only a little tweaking of the EQ. There are some sounds that Will is getting that I have yet to emulate. For example, in this nicely done demo(which I had not seen yet) Effect type #1, Multi- Band Normal...there is a separation in overtones that I hear that so far I can't get. Not that I want to see Will have to sit for an hour and go through every setting, but some tips on EQ settings for the various distortion types would be fantastic. I don't know if anyone else has, but I have already paused the video on shots of the pedal, trying the settings dialed in. If anything, the video makes me want an expression pedal even more...great

Just picked up my second SA pedal - BEF to go with a MBD I got awhile back. The BEF just kicked an MXR env filter off my board, and the micro pog just left (put my Analogman bichorus back) as the octaves in the distortion can cover that. Lots of combinations that'll take some shedding to figure out.

One thing that I run into live is tone matching. I regularly swap between a Rob Allen MB-2 (no on-board tone and huge low end) and an active PJ. I either need to move the bass around on the amp when I switch, or I can use a Paradriver tweaked for the Rob Allen (bass cut). But I seem to remember reading some using the MBDPro as an A/B. I should be able to run a "clean" preset with some gain cut and bass cut via the eq for the RA, then another clean preset for the PJ (flat), then some distorto tones. Anyone doing something like that?

Wanted to mention a very clever realization I had with the Clean EQs on the MWBDP (probably not a poignant realization). If you are having trouble with any distortions or Fuzzes not sounding the way you want,....throw the MWBDP after the offending pedal, set it to the Clean EQ section and tweak away. This is a great way to incorporate other distortions into your setup and drives home the effectiveness of the MWBDP as a essentially a distortion workstation.
