Source Audio Club-

Speaking of order (beyond maybe a jack and coke), BEF -> MBD or other way around?

One thing I'm finding is that previous env filters (MXR, AF-9, etc) really need a compressor after them in the chain to tame spikes. Seems that the BEF tames itself. I'm actually thinking of splitting into two small boards now - one nano with tuner, compressor and paradriver (with DI) that goes to all gigs, then second micro with BEF, MBD, MicroPog, AnalogmanBiChorus, and RC-2 looper or DD-3 for gigs where I want to get weird. Well, sound weird. Weil....

I prefer MWBD-->BEF,...that way you can get that synthy sweep on some of the normal distortions.

I had one question that I've been wondering about for a while. How many of those XXXBand and Foldback Distortions on the MW have some sort of envelope filter effect actually designed into them?

I always prefer to put the BEF after the MBD. That way all of the distortion is contained within the filter sweeps of the envelope filter. It sounds tighter. We're working on making a series of clips focusing on this, but we do have one new video of the BEF -> MBD.

Since this is mainly a matter of software and artwork, I would expect that we could start shipping in 6 to 8 weeks but please don't hold us to that yet.

Not holding you to it but still very hyper (cant believe i've refrained from asking for this long!) will the pro be availible in the next 1-3 weeks ?!?!?!?!

Roger, how are you sir? It is nice be somewhat back. I have been on and off, but I just don't have the time anymore like I used to... :(

It seems like all is running quite well with you guys though and that is great! I have to say, just about every gig I do, people always ask me what that purple pedal of mine is and I am always proud and happy to talk their ear off about you guys.

The BEF is such a great pedal! Thanks again Roger, Will and crew for totally kicking a**!

Here is the official update.

BEF Pro - All is going well. We will post a picture of the control surface in our newsletter and here next week. This will give you a very good idea of the feature set. We picked a couple of longtime dedicated (and slightly geeky - just like us!!!) TB folks to test out some beta units, and that seems to have gone smoothly. They have the green light to post clips if they want. The LFO can make some really amazing sounds. Our first pilot production units come to us the week of June 8th, and our first customer units should get to us the 3rd week of July.

Small EQ - Jesse is making the final edits to the feature set and code. One of the new features is very interesting and unique. We will tell more if it can be made to work reliably. The BEF pro has taken up lots of our attention and pushed this back in the schedule a bit. Mid August is my best estimate right now. Sorry about the delay, but I did note a while back that this product was less predictable than the BEF Pro.

Got some bonus money in, finally. My special reward to myself is a BEF. The BEF Pro is beyond what my meager needs require, so I went with the immediate low-hanging fruit. :)

8thStreet.com, send me my pedal! :bassist:

Oh the suspense for the green light has been KILLING ME! :)

I recorded this clip on MAY 14th to demo the electronica potential for the Source team using a really basic and slow 4 or 5 note melody, some really basic GT-10B octave>fuzz (you can hear the non-filtered tone at the end), then into the BEF Pro using a customized 16 step sequencer LFO with the expression sweeping Range (depth) which you can hear towards the end of the clip, and I hear some chorus and delay/verb after the filter. The sequencer is doing all of the fun work in this clip.

Wait... WHAT? I'm sorry, did he just say SIXTEEN STEP SEQUENCER? Link Removed

The BEF Pro is syncing to MIDI Clock from my DAW for beat-synced LFO. While my playing is a little off in spots you'll note the filter holds to the clock the entire clip.
