Source Audio Neuro App improvement thread

USB only - I got my Ultrawave Beta used and the seller couldn't find the rest of the kit so I only got the pedal and box.

I think the issue may be speed - it seems like it takes a lot longer than one would think to read the pedal, and you can jump around in the app before it finishes and this confuses things.
The Ultrawave and Artifakt have the most parameters of any SA pedal. It makes sense it might take longer to burn a preset from the app. Can you try going a bit slower when communicating with the pedal and see if this helps? Thanks!

Okay, so I did some tests

Phone (Samsung S24+) > OTG adaptor (Samsung from my old S10) > Generic USB-A to USB mini cable.

Deleted the pedal in the android app, connected pedal, add pedal.
It takes around 20-30 seconds for the Pedals > My Pedal > three bars section Pedal to be populated with the number of slots (prior to that no slots are listed)
It takes between 30-60 seconds for the Presets to load in that list - some presets continue to show blank.
Note that I only have 6 on the pedal.

Then I slowly started going into the three bars section and clicking on pedal presets. Usually leaving at least 5 seconds (sometimes more) between changes. At some point the connection got messed up.

So I unplug, delete the pedal, click add pedal, reconnect the pedal, finish the add. Leave pedal for 1 minute. Presets are not all showing names, but select one and leave it a minute to allow it load - messed up connection.

So I delete the pedal, re-add. Wait a bit and then select a slot. Pedal changes and preset screen updates. Wait 15 seconds or so, change slot - it changes and after a delay, the preset screen shows the preset data. Do it again (wait 15) - preset screen doesn't update. Do it again (wait 15) - preset screen updates. Do that a few more times and maybe 50% of the time the preset screen updates to what is on the pedal.

I try to see what happens if I just switch as fast as I can - strum a note, then three bars select a slot over and over again - switches slots fine, but the preset doesn't always update on the screen.

Disconnect the pedal, reconnect, and switch through the slots not overly fast but not slow either. It's switching slots, but not updating the preset on screen at all. Disconnect/reconnect and we're hosed again.

I'm not sure if it is supposed to, but when I select a slot from the pedal, the preset editor never shows the preset name from the pedal, it always shows "New Preset"

Just ordered a C4 yesterday from Thomann, does the desktop editor allow to save presets locally, instead of online?
You can save them on the pedal or you can also set up a folder on your computer, not sure if that is an option for handheld devices.
Saving them on the Neuro cloud as well as a back up are highly recommended

Is the next update expected to fix the TRS connection issue for iOS, too?
Yes this is high on our priorities list to fix. But it should be noted that if the pedal in question supports USB connectivity (so everything except the True Spring, Vertigo, 3 mod pedals and 3 distortion pedals) we suggest using USB unequivocally as it is a more stable connection and 2-way.

Yes, currently you'll need to get online for at least a couple seconds to log in. But you can Save to your pedal memory slots instead of online places like the Library and Community.

Thanks, glad to hear it, since I’m using TRS via iOS for distortions, but roger on the USB connection advice for the newer (or less old) pedals.

My whole SA pedal board has TRS through across the whole series of pedals, and it blew my mind to be able to edit them all from my smart device with one cable-- easy in and done. Yes, not two-way, but still a very fun way to work.

Are you using USB or the audio TRS connection?

USB. Used to work, now it doesn't. Tried deleting pedal and re-adding, no connection. USB connects to my desktop fine.
USB with same pedal and adapter does connect to my iphone - but like, what does the app even do? I look at the presets loaded onto my pedal and see nothing (there are dozens when I connect to the desktop app). The ONLY thing I want the app to do is let me pick from the presets already loaded to my pedal.

Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it?

Just recieved my C4 after 1 week (thanks DHL 💢), I do not understand how to perform the calibration process, when I click on Calibrate starting from the Input knob to 0 and raise it slowly while plucking (as the manual says) the blinking LED never turns red. Am I doing something wrong?
Regardless the tracking is not bad right now but I want to calibrate it still.

Also I am experiencing issues on Windows 11, after around 30 to 45 minutes the software does no longer update parameters or change patches. Disconnecting and reconnecting the pedal does not make the software work.

In this situation, when closing and reopening the software, it takes a few minutes for it to start and the pedal is not found.
The only way to get it to work is to restart windows.

Is this a known issue or am I the first to find it?

Testing further, around 45 minutes, this time it showed a a popup window saying something along the lines of "no children" (I forgot what it said, should have taken a screenshot) and then the neuro editor crashed. Same long open time after with no device detected.
Sorry if I may be pedantic with all these messages but the editor not working would be a no-go for this product.
