SB2 question. I think this has already been covered & isn't doable, but just in case there is a workaround I haven't discovered:

I have a Bass OFD & use the HUB. My 'on pedal presets' include my 2 most used settings: A TS9000 medium overdrive on Button1 and a saturated, Kings Xish Metal preset on Button2. I use the expression pedal to morph between the two (that's been proving very useful to me). These 'on pedal' presets are also stored in my HUB as 'Scene 0'. So far, so good....
Here's the question: I also want to be able to have the same dual-sound morphing scene saved to another midi location, but with the output levels lowered (mostly for home practice/tweaking). I can set the output of one of the presets lower, but I can't figure out how to have both sounds lower when using the Morph function. Any ideas?
 
Speaking of feedback...

We are planning to include a fully parametric EQ in all of the One Series pedals, including the Nemesis. I have a question for the TalkBass community. Are 3 bands sufficient, or would you prefer 5 bands?

In a 3-band parametric EQ, you would be able to configure 3 independent peaking/bell filters and control their center frequency, boost/cut, and Q/bandwidth. By default, these would be set up to work like bass, mid, and treble tone controls.
In a 5-band parametric EQ, there would be 2 additional bands, a low shelf / high pass and a high shelf / low pass.

I'm just curious if people would even use the 4th and 5th bands if we made them available.

High and low pass filters are always very very useful I find.

Update on MIDI issues:

I forgot how the Manta mix knob worked, that noon is full dry, but fully CW or fully CCW are completely wet, one with LO-RETAIN. The reason the knob seemed to not be working was that I kept going to the extreme and didn't here the LO-RETAIN difference. So that answered that. My bad.

However, I still do not think that the OFD mix knob is responding properly to MIDI. At a MIDI value of 127, which should correspond to fully CW on the knob and fully hi-cut clean, the signal is absolutely dirty. Is there something I'm missing?

Not sure if I'm interpreting you correctly, is this what you want:

- in scene 0, your OFD has TS9000 on preset 1 and King X on preset 2 and you morph between them
- in another scene, you want the same, but both of these have their volumes set lower

What method are you using to save both settings to your scene? Are you tweaking the pedal, then pressing the save button on the hub? If you do so, it'll only save the "currently on" effect. Even though the light of the other effect lights up when you morph, it won't be saved to the hub. The only way to save both patches to the scene I know is to key in both patches twice in the hub manager software on laptop. So if this is really your situation and you want to save an identical scene (both patches for morphing, but both tweaked lower), then you need to do it through hub manager software.

Right now what's probably happening is that your pedal has two presets saved to slot 1 and 2, and then you ask the hub manager to saves it. But the hub manager only stores the currently on preset, say preset 1. But you might not realize it because when you load the scene, it morphs between preset 1 as saved by the hub manager, and preset 2 as saved on the pedal. The problem is say, you lower the volume on preset 2, press and hold the pedal footswitch to save it, then lower the volume on preset 1, then press and hold the pedal footswitch to save it, then press and hold the hub button, the hub only saves the lowered preset 1. So you have one of the presets lower, but the next time you set preset 2 back up to normal volume, and then load the scene, what you'll have is a lower volume preset 1 and a high volume preset 2.

For the Manta, yes, somewhere around 63-64.

For the OFD, at 0. But 63-64 should be fully wet, and 127 should be fully hi-cut clean, correct? That is not what I'm hearing.
 
Alright, Nic. I read your post about using the HUB software to load 2 of the same pedal to enable morphing. It works! Sort of. I'm still having trouble getting the 2nd (left) sound change output level. It keeps defaulting to the louder preset native on the pedal. Gonna keep trying....

That really sounds a lot like no low retain. Odd. Very odd. Does it work the way you want to when you tweak the knob manually though? And what about if you tweak the mix knob digitally from the hub manager?

Are you still in the Hub Manager? To test whether the scene works the way I want to, I reload the scene from the scene dropdown menu (e.g. right now it displays scene 0 - (scene name), I click the dropdown menu and select back that scene, and see if it works). Sometimes that's needed to reset the 'buffer space' in the pedal.

It works as long as I am using the HUB manger to load the scenes. As soon as I disconnect the computer and load scenes with my OneControl and HUB, the morphing works but the level reverts to the louder saved-on-pedal volume.
 
That shouldn't affect in theory. The only thing I could think of now is that your second tone is set to default, and expression is changing something on the second tone that happens to morph it into one of the other tones.... which would be an amazing coincidence.

Okay I'm gonna run through the steps again just in case I missed anything,

1) Connect hub to laptop, open hub manager
2) Open a new scene
3) Add the OFD twice in the bottom panel
4) Tweak the settings as desired for the two instances of the OFD, make sure you save the settings as you go along (i.e. save and close it properly instead of using the cancel option)
5) Make sure both are set to expression control and morph. Under the advanced settings section, reverse the MIDI numbers for the one you want to be your expression toe-down (i.e. starts at 127 and ends at 0)
6) Make sure both are set to Engaged.
7) Put one as preset 1, the other as preset 2.
8) Save scene, reload scene just to make sure.
9) Copy scene to another slot, and now tweak the volume levels as desired. Leave everything else the same.
10) Save this scene as well. Try toggling the two scenes to make sure they're both working.
11) At this point both should be on your hub, but if you especially want to make sure, export your entire scene collection as a backup, and load it again?
12) Unplug the hub and test

I think this ought to work. It's more or less what I've done, except that after step 8 I've spent more time tweaking settings further.

I gave this so many tries, even following the above recipe to the letter - twice - but it still doesn't really work. As soon as I load the original 'On Pedal Preset button 2', any other Scene that Morphs will use the 'On Pedal Preset button 2'. The only way to make it work correctly is to use the computer software manager, which is a pain.

So, yes, while connected to the HUB Software Manager via USB, and changing Scenes within the software, it works as I want. The moment I hit a physical stompswitch on the pedal itself, it reverts back no matter which new Scene I change to via the HUB.

I just don't think the HUB was meant to work this way. It's really a single sound per pedal solution.
 
Oh yes! I forgot to mention that in my new post, although I think I mentioned it in my original post. Once you hit the footswitch, it overwrites what I call the 'buffer'.

My suggested solution around that would be either of these:
1) Use the expression pedal alone for turning distortions on/off (that's what I do. I like how the expression pedal is bigger so it's easier to hit quickly)
2) Set up two identical scenes, just that one starts on the "clean" and the other on the "heavy distortion" when you press your MIDI controller. So pressing the MIDI footswitch automatically sends the pedal to the patch you want.

Also, people have been asking for an update to the Hub that lets you load two new presets saved into the pedal memory and/or read both presets and save them into a scene. That would also work out the way you want it to.

Sorry about all the trouble! Should've realized you might've been hitting the OFD's footswitch. I haven't touched my distortion footswitches ever since I got the hub, I practically forgot they're there.
