Think I full on sold out:

Well I went ahead and decided to be That Guy and e-mailed those suggestions to [email protected]. Even though the SA guys obviously monitor this thread, I figured MAAAAAAYBE an e-mail carries a little more weight than a S.A.S.S. post.

On a different note, I've been going crazy with MIDI Designer and my various pedals. I can confirm that the MIDI commands for effect type on the Manta and OFD work as @rsmith601 said they would (for the Manta) and assumed they would (for the OFD).

However, for both pedals, the "Mix" knob does not work how I expect via MIDI control. On the OFD, it seems like a MIDI value of 127 does not correspond to fully clockwise on the pedal (100% hi-cut clean), but rather to a mix of 100% drive. Is this right? I'm using the MIDI CC #s at the end of the Hub Manager manual. Is there another CC that corresponds to to the hi-cut clean mix?

For the Manta, things are a little less clear. The mix seemed to be working erratically and/or generally non-responsive to my MIDI commands. It seemed like it was either full dry or full wet.

There is a small but non-zero chance my MIDI programming is the culprit, moreso for the Manta than the OFD. I'm pretty confident I've accurately described how my OFD is responding.

Any MIDI wizards/SA Sorcerers experienced this? @FretNoMore, @Nic., @adamaarts?

I can't really say either, I made the MidiDesigner configuration but have hardly used it more than just checking something happens when changing settings. My SA board has been on the backburner for a while, waiting for firmware from both Disaster Area (got that working fully only a few days ago with a new gHOST version) and Source Audio (want the store-to-preset function). Everything does seem to work as intended now so I'll try finalizing cabling etc this coming weekend, and I could experiment a bit with MidiDesigner too and see if I can figure out what happens. But a reply from SA would of course be better.

@Adamixoye I haven't tried directly controlling with MIDI cc. But for expression control, I seemed to have the desired mix knob results with my manta. Set my expression pedal to go from 64 to 0 and it did go from no wet signal at all to all wet signal with some bassiness. I might need to do further investigation though.

Me - Foxrox Octron, and if it's compatible with some of the small compact delays/reverbs like the TC Electronics stuff I'd really like to use it. Although frankly speaking the Nemesis does way more interesting delays than that, if I can fit two smaller delays into the size of one Nemesis and control both of them independently via MIDI that's more valuable for me for doing ambient stuff.

Please excuse my ignorance but I don't have any SA pedals yet (but am waiting for Solemate & will probably pair up with Orb Mod & Dim Rev along with a couple of analog pedals I have) so my question is .. how do you determine which order they go in when programming the hub ? I'm trying to visualise the patch cable setup but assume each pedal just goes separately to the hub then you can set the parameters & chain order however ... ? But how ? And how soon can we expect the Solemate / neuro looper in Europe/UK ... the wait is killing me lol

The patch cables for the audio don't go to the Hub, they work like any other pedal, chain the audio from one pedal's output to the input on the next one - you can't change the order of the pedals in a Hub scene. The Hub control cables I think you can connect to any jack, though I have put them in the same order as the pedals according to the audio chain.

Everyone I tagged---thanks for the input, I was just thinking of people I remembered talking about using something more than the Hub and a Gecko/MIDI Mouse (Adam using the Digitech unit, Nic and Fret using MIDI apps). I will have to try again and hope for some feedback from SA themselves. Again, I don't think I'm wrong about the Mix on the OFD---127 was definitely fully wet driven, not hi-cut clean like the physical knob. The Manta, who knows.

That being said, it doesn't actually matter what order you plug the control cables into the hub.

As others have said, the order you plug it in doesn't matter. As for the software, the order only matters if you put in more than one patch for the same pedal in the same scene, which is a loophole I discovered that allows you to load two patches into the multiwave/OFD for morphing.

I should try tweaking with MIDI CC. Please do update us on this! I'm interested to know how that works out.

That's what I thought. What happens if you were to have two pedals of the same type, do they get different identities in the Hub and Hub Manager?

Yes, you can assign different channels (a.k.a. Device IDs) to each pedal. For example, I could connect multiple Orbital Modulators to the hub, assign one of them ID 0 and the other ID 1, and then save different presets for each of them.

For more detailed info, check page 5 of the hub manager user manual, which is available here: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

So I plugged my Hub into my computer for the first time in a while yesterday, updated all my firmware, and started naming scenes in prep for the solemate, then I spent an hour or two combing this thread and others for settings and scenes to add to my hub. I just wanted to thank @adamaarts, @scotch, @johnk_10, @gastric, @yaksonator and anyone else who has shared settings and scenes. it was a lot of fun to add them in and play around with them.

Any chance you can share those settings, or the page you found Johnk_10? I found the post for the other TBers sharing their settinga (and thank you for the drop box shares, it made it so easy) but would love to see what he had contributed. I am setting up a board for a really nice covers gig (corporate gig) on Monday (its the first show w/them and want to sound great) and need to set some tones. Pretty basic stuff but basically I need to dial in:

I have an OFD, MWBD, and Manta, hub and SA expression on board...

An SVT ish tone ( for a Stones song, also carry that over for two Billy Idol covers- I KNOW :))
dial in a fuzz/muff to for two Black Keys covers (Lonely Boy)
Some kind of filter and use the control pedal for the "wobbles and a Bug muff/fuzz tone for song sections in Imagine Dragon's Radioactive
A nice thumpish tone for an Al Green song and a country tune (Ring of Fire)
Doing a pearl Jam cover , will probably use "El Raton" to get the Jeff Ament tone

Sorry so long winded but it's the last step in getting ready for the gig. Got all the music and charts done and working on the sonic details - I'm setting the pedals up tonight at volume to work out the sounds and get everything set up so it's ready for the first rehearsal on Thursday. Gig is on Monday and it's my first rehearsal and gig with the band. I am replacing their original bassist. The one thing the band leader wanted from me (other than a note for note representation of songs) is to use pedals to get close to the tone of the recordings. It is one thing his old bassist did not do.

Another thing that worries me is I am setting up the pedals to work with my tone and amp, and I am alone in the space. It might be a big difference at the gig, through a backline.
