I recorded some demos of the new Source Audio One Series Pedals from the Tour Box! I did demos of the Gemini Chorus, the Lunar Phaser and the Aftershock Bass Distortion!!! You can check em on my Soundcloud (no there is no mention of my band or promotion stuff there, its just for pedal demos)

"Joeynone's profile - Hear the world’s sounds"

also if you want to follow updates form the other members who will be demoing the tour box, the thread can be viewed here.

When they updated the site it really made the listing hard to keep up. I think when I get back from vacation I am going to work with someone to get SASS off the ground. Sorry that the updates to the list have been slow.....

Made a demo video of the Manta focusing only on its fuzz effects. Lengthy even with just that. I found more sounds I like after messing with this thing all night.

Wow that's a LOT of distortion sounds. I actually really like what you got around 4:40. Although it's definitely not the first choice for a distortion/fuzz, in the absence of the MWBD I could live with this I suppose. I find it interesting that you can't not flavour it with the filter.

It becomes a bit confusing to keep track of the exact sounds after a while though.

That phaser sounds really sick. I think it's the One series pedal that I want to most, even if I don't know how I'd use a phaser.

Back again with a new round of issues... :)

To recap: My Hub is connected via MIDI Out from an Eventide H9 to the MIDI In on the Hub. The only pedal attached to the Hub is a Manta.

Problem 1: My Manta is on firmware rev. 7 and I can't seem to update it. In the Hub Manager if I click 'Update Pedal Firmware', select the Manta v8 file and click 'OK', the file selection dialog closes but nothing else happens. The Manta remains on v7. I've tried restarting the manager software and power cycling the Hub but had no luck.

Problem 2 (or not?*): My H9 is sending MIDI PC messages on channel 1 when I select programs using its footswitches (confirmed by connecting it to my Mac and monitoring the MIDI data) but this is not changing scenes on my Hub/Manta. Everything is set to channel 1. I have 5 scenes set up so far in slots 0-4 and if I send a MIDI PC that corresponds to any of those numbers, nothing happens.

Any advice?

* Edit: It seems the Manta is now responding to these PC messages, but I've changed nothing. It suddenly started working while I was creating new sounds using the Manta and the H9. I don't know if it will continue working...

Yeah it's talking to the hub OK. For example I have saved scenes to the hub and loaded them on the Manta, and I've loaded settings from the Manta into the controls dialog in the Hub Manager, I just can't get the firmware to update, nothing happens.

I'm wondering if it's the file that was packaged with the Hub Manager? I remember I had to download a Hub firmware file because the hex file in the archive didn't work, although that time I at least got an error message. When trying to update the pedal I get no feedback at all.

Also I can't remember if it was posted here or not, I feel like I remember it being posted somewhere. But is there a master list of all the midi cc controls for the SB2 pedals? Trying to get all my MIDI messages organized and figuring out some more in depth programming between the M9 and my SA stuff.

It's in one of the Hub Manuals. There are two---the Hub manual proper and the Hub Manager manual. I think the list is toward the end of the latter.

Thank you, it's doing something!

Edit: Successful!

Source Audio: You might want to look at the hex files you're distributing with the Hub Manager on Mac, neither of the two I've tried (Hub, Manta) worked.
ah sorry I was away for the weekend. We need to update this, it's just a matter of copying the hex file to the desktop and it will work. It's a strange permutations issue, but we'll get it sorted. Thanks for the reminder!

MANTA
I finally had the chance to do more in-depth testing. I didn't test every possible permutation, but I think I know the most important aspects of the configuration that is causing the Manta issue.

---Basically, I cannot save a preset to EITHER switch when the Manta is (a) Hub-connected AND (b) EITHER preset is in tap tempo mode.
---If I disconnect the Manta from the Hub, I can still save presets to either switch even if one is in tap tempo mode.
---If I disable tap tempo on both presets, then I can still save presets when connected to the Hub.

I also tested whether or not the "load preset to pedal" option played a role. It did not appear to. I didn't fully disconnect all of the various MIDI that I have in my chain. But the only thing that should have been sending MIDI during this time was MIDI clock from my Beat Buddy.

OFD
Just to be clear, I have NOT noticed this issue with my OFD. I've been able to save my presets whenever I wanted in that case, which sort of supports the idea that this is a tap tempo issue of some sort. Of course, I had the other odd issue that my OFD kept engaging. I previously concluded this might be from the Beat Buddy, but I forgot that my Beat Buddy actually powers my MIDI Merge and MIDI Thru boxes. So it's possible that there was a MIDI issue from somewhere else, and disconnecting the Beat Buddy was simply interrupting the MIDI chain. I have a new theory on this, that some scenes I thought were blank may not have been blank, and perhaps my MIDI Designer was sending a PC signal that I wasn't aware of. I'm not sure. I'm going to keep an eye on this.
