With a Lunar (and soon a Nemesis, maybe even an Aftershock) on the way, I thought I'd ask this question here: I'm a total dummy when it comes to MIDI or other triggering methods, does anyone have a "MIDI for dummies" explanation that I could refer to when I eventually set up MIDI presets for both pedals? I figure I could get a MIDI mouse for cheap or if I go all-out pick up SA's offering, but it would be really cool to play like Nathan does in the "Symmetry" demo video.

We created the Hub exactly to address this concern. The Hub's goal is to take all of the confusion out of MIDI and make it really easy to set up lots of different preset sounds that can be loaded with a simple Program Change message and nothing else. The complicated stuff (turning things on and off, setting up parameters to the right value) is all handled by the Hub automatically so you don't have to think about it. A simple MIDI Mouse will do - or anything else that sends program messages!

Send a program change message to the Hub, turn on the pedals you want to have enabled, turn off the ones you don't, and set the knobs where you want them. Once you've settled on your sound, press the Save button on the Hub. This will save the whole setup (all connected pedals, all settings) to the Hub's preset memory. To recall that exact same setup any time in the future, just send that same program change message again.

So just to clarify (again I am a total MIDI/technical noob), I would connect the Midi mouse/controller and when I "save" the setup on the Hub to, for example, channel "1", it will then carry over to the first bank on the MIDI Mouse? And all I would have to do is go up and down the channels?

EDIT: I think I figured it out in the affirmative, I'm reading the SB2 MIDI Hub thread and it's super informative. rsmith's responses are great for a non-technical guy like me.

The LED in the top right corner next to the MIX knob blinks when I select the MIDI channel. I select ch3 and nothing happens when I send PC messages for 1, 2, 3, 4. Same thing happens with ch2, as well. I'm positive that it's not an issue with my controller because my Mobius is set to ch2 and responds to the PC commands. I change to ch1 (blinks again) and it changes with PC messages for 2, 3, 4.

We discovered the problem. It was a firmware bug! The good news is that it's already fixed. We will contact you directly with update instructions (a firmware update tool will be publicly released very soon on our website, but for now, we'll send it to you directly).

post a picture of both rings (plastic end) and we can tell you the general vintage.

Can confirm, am dummy, I can do MIDIthings now. Love this company!

I'm eyeballs deep in Nemesis right now. So many sounds, so much character, and so much stuff that plays so well with bass. I was worried I wouldn't be using Nemesi' to the full potential but there's so much tastiness in there.

I haven't dug it up in the manual, but is there a way to extend down to the second set of engines on the rotary dial without having to use the app, a la Manta style?

We will contact you directly within a few days. Once the firmware updater is finalized (should be pretty quick), we will put it on our site.
