Ok. I need help with my Orbital. I create a new patch, edit the patch "save and close" and save scene. When I go to recall the patch it comes up with some wacked out sound?? I reset the pedal twice and same. Can't seem to get it to save the patch properly. Is there a chance something is messed up in the Hub settings? I am going to switch out the cable between the pedal and hub tomorrow to see if it makes a difference. My Aftershock and Manta are fine. Just the Orbital? Pulling my hair out!! This is my set up below. All cables and connections are good. No idea what is going on? Using the joyo to recall patches. Also some settings with the Aftershock I get a loud pop when swithching? Is that normal? Thank you in advance!!

A quick question regarding one series pedals, specifically the aftershock.
I'm looking to change patches with a midi controller using program change messages via USB (without the hub).

Is there a way to specify which PC number is assigned to each preset? At the moment patch 1 is accessed via PC number 1 and so on.

Hi bassleigh, The AfterShock will only respond to MIDI CC messages over USB. Also, to send MIDI over USB, you'll need a USB host (computer or host adapter). If you do have a MIDI host, a workaround is to use MIDI CC's for your patch changes. Thirty-eight parameters are open for MIDI CC control, including right/left engine select, drive, mix, EQ parameters, engage/bypass, etc. Please send a note to [email protected] if you'd like help setting up MIDI CC mappings for your AfterShock. Alternatively, you can use the Neuro Hub to gain MIDI PC and CC control without the use of a computer or host adapter, while also expanding your number of presets from six to 128.

All of the MIDI control information in the linked manual is correct, but a more up to date manual with additional info is in the works. The new MIDI features that will be added to the manual are in regards to the Neuro Desktop Editor, which allows you to map each incoming MIDI CC number to any of the AfterShock's parameters. If you're interested in doing this now, connect your AfterShock to the Neuro Desktop Editor, select your AfterShock on the left hand side, and from the top menu, select Device // Edit Device MIDI Map. The "AfterShock Bass Distortion MIDI Map Editor" window will then open.

So to be clear and TL;DR, there's not really a set MIDI mapping the way there is for something like the Nemesis, but you can pick your own CC#s for anything? And anything that passes MIDI through the Hub will work?

I did a couple searches but couldn't find an answer - apologies if I missed this. I'm considering the nemesis delay, but I am tight on space and would need to ditch another pedal (or two). Can the nemesis dial up presets from the lunar and other one series pedals via the Neuro app?

I currently use my lunar for phasing and chorus duties thanks to some shared presets. I'm hoping the nemesis would allow me to access those presets, so I could bump the lunar and make way for the nemesis.

I don't think so. A lot of the One Series pedals can share presets, but only if they're in the same family (dirt, modulation, etc)

Am I right to assume I can store and recall 6 presets on the hardware? Or only 3?

The Nemesis hardware only runs delay programs that support delay engines. There are 12 base engines on the top level knob, and 14 more available via the app. From the base engines you can either create your own sounds or access a public library of factory and user created presets.

The same concept holds for the modulation pedals, except they can share all sounds between them. The Lunar can access any Gemini sound or Mercury sound.

The same concept holds for thedistortion pedals too. TheAftershock, Kingmaker, and LALady share sounds. It's not that we want more money. First, the control knobs are not a great match. Second, a Neuro preset for the Lunar, for example, contains about 40 parameters that set up the sound. It's small, efficient and loads into the pedal instantly from the outside world. To do that with the Nemesis, we would need to dump all the delay pedal code and load all the modulation code before you could load a Lunar preset. It would make the preset files huge and they would take time to load, especially from the app.
So, hope this explains our approach. We are balancing free access to sounds with a good user experience.

Maybe need to send it in for a check up? Also when I turn the mod source knob I get distortions??? Kind of sine wavish??

Ok. updated firmware for second time and now things seem to be working better. I can now call up patches without a hitch!

Yes, that's all correct. You can also reassign MIDI mappings for the Nemesis now, using the same process.

In the following window, select “Yes.”
Another window will open with all of the current firmware for the One Series.
Choose the firmware that has "AfterShock" in the title.
Select, “Open,” and wait for the update to finish.

Sounds cool! That's correct, changing an effect type will change the distortion engine. If you'd like to make additional parameter changes, jumping between faux presets, you can do that with successive MIDI CC messages. It's less convenient than MIDI PC's but works much the same in this case, and will allow you to have an unlimited amount of patches.

Choose the firmware that matches your pedal.
Select, “Open,” and wait for the update to finish.

To make your custom MIDI Mappings, select the Nemesis' blue box in the upper left. From the top menu, select Device // Edit Device MIDI Map. A new window will open. Here, you can create your custom MIDI mappings.
