Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

[QUOTE="Something like the Source Audio Casimir (my name suggestion :p ) that has ridiculously controllable filters and as a carryover from the Manta, available pre-filter and/or post-filter drive. I bet the user presets would be nuts coming out of that, everything from Moog emulations to crazy synth sci fi effects.[/QUOTE]

As long as we're speculating, I think the routing options of the One Series could allow for a true side-chain input to the envelope follower in addition to a selectively-placed onboard drive.

Now that I've typed that, does that feature already exist with the envelope phaser in the Lunar?

Well, you can certainly use the second input/output as an effects loop placed before or after the Lunar effect.

I've got a question concerning the Soleman Midi Controller:

Is it possible to use the Midi In to connect another midi controller to expand the presets available without bank switching? Would that external controller then also kinda be programmable via the USB port?

Thing is, that there is almost no device that does Midi in a "new" way like you do. What I read about it is kind of excellent.

New Ventris sounds out! Looks like October is the release month :O

@rsmith601 , will the pedal be sold directly from your site like the Nemesis?

Also, @nathannavarro , what bass are you using for your composition? Sounds killer! Almost looks like a Status

Yes, we will sell Ventris on the SA site. All the first units will go that way.
We didn't know delay much before Nemesis. In contrast, we really know reverb. Ventris is the culmination of lots knowledge and experience.

I ordered a Lunar Phaser recently and have been going back and forth with SA for a little bit, but I thought I'd post here as well.

I have a few problems. When I burn an EQ setting I like, it doesn't come back up when I power down the pedal. Is that the way it's supposed to work? Do I have to re-burn the settings every time I power on the pedal?

Second, is there anyway to delete a saved preset on neuro, or at least change the name? Only thing I can find id to edit the description. I want to either delete it or at least change the name i gave it.

Third, I thought maybe I need to upgrade the firmware. When I plug it into my computer, it's recognized, but that's about it. Do I have to download anything special?

Edit: Figured out number 3, but still having issues. What I notice the most is that maybe the setting are burned in, but there is a very noticeable volume drop when I power it down and turn it back on.

Edit 2: May have figured it all out. Just so much fiddling you have to do.

If you go to your preset list and swipe it, you can make changes and delete them. I don't like this aspect of the design either!

Please note that the app is a free tool. It's not perfect, but it makes a relatively simple and small pedal much more flexible. The phaser in Lunar won the famous blind shoot out against expensive analog boxes conducted here on TB, so you are getting high quality sounds. In the end, we invest more in the sounds than in the look and feel of the free software tools. None of our direct competitors offer editors and tools for sharing for small pedals at all..... And most of the time their pedals are more expensive. Sorry for coming off as defensive, but sometimes the context of these tools gets lost. Hopefully all is working well now!

Cool. Deleted what I wanted to delete. Didn't even know you could swipe things. Love the pedal, it's just a lot to take in at first. Been at it for a week and sometimes I can be a little impatience and only about 70% there. Not even looking for another phaser/flanger.

I understand that Neuro is not perfect, but it works for what it's supposed to do. Only request I have now is to be able to change the name and not only the description.

Thanks for the help. You guys have been very helpful.

Sorry, this can't be done because the Soleman doesn't have MIDI Thru. You can, however, connect a MIDI controller to it's MIDI In and use PC's to load Panels, or Note On messages to load Scenes. If you use the "Use Setup Macro" feature, that would give you something pretty close to it. I've used two Solemans this way before, and found it to be very intuitive. I used the first Soleman for panel switching, triggering Macros on the second Soleman via "Use Setup Macro," and the second Soleman was used for CC messages and MIDI Clock/tap tempo.

Thanks! Yeah, the look of it caught my eye when I saw it in the classifieds on Reverb.com. As far as I know, it's a no-name/budget-bass from Vietnam. I was looking for something cheap and small to travel with, and it fit the bill. It really wasn't great, but a new preamp, pickups, bridge, and tuners really beefed it up.

Quick question: is it possible to control the envelope via expression pedal for the Lunar Phaser? I really love the responsiveness of the envelope phaser option, but I was wondering if it can also be manually controlled like a wah pedal.
I would say yes. Using the control port with either an SA expression pedal or a 3rd party one with a modified adapter. (the manual covers this) @nathannavarro am I missing anything? Note that you are controlling the frequency sweep rather than having an envelope detector control this sweep. Same thing as what goes on between an envelope filter vs a wah pedal.

I don't know if this has been covered, but on the One Series pedals, is it possible to switch Output 1 and Output 2? I recently changed my pedalboards order and my cable is just short of reaching output 1. I know I could buy another cable, but just wondering haha.

I believe so. The modulation and Nemesis pedals have options in the Neuro app for changing the LFO offset and inverting phase, so Output 2 can behave like Output 1 normally would. The distortion pedals have independent controls for each channel, so you would just need to set up Channel 2 (Right) parameters to your liking.

But honestly, it'd be easier to change out your patch cable. ;)

Haha very true! Thanks for the quick response! :)
