A "dumb" looper like the Iguana Tail, operates completely outside of the midi environment. It is simply a bypass switch for whatever is in the loop. This will be great for some use cases and won't work for others.

For example, say I have a scene for a song saved on preset 1. Scene 1 consists of a low gain drive on the OFD and a phaser on the Orbital. However, I only want to use the phaser on the chorus of the song, so I have the loop containing the Orbital bypassed and stomp the loop on when I need it.

Yes you could set up that same solution with a "smart" looper as well and send a midi CC to turn the Orbital on/off as well, but for me and my use case, the dumb looper setup works well.

I leave my smooth around 2oclock. I constantly fiddle with it though because some days it feels too jumpy, and others it feels less responsive. Probably just my perception changes based on caffeine, energy of songs, alcohol, rather than the actual reaction of the HH.

So this was helpful but didn't completely solve my issue. Using the depth to program worked, but when actually using the HH3, I can't seem to get the full range out of it. The thing I want to do most is to use weird effects and have them off in my normal playing position but be able to turn them on (go full dry to full or at least relatively high wet) by raising my hand. It also doesn't seem to respond to gravity in the same way that it does when connected to my Manta (something I learned only a few pages/days ago in this very thread). An e-mail to Source Audio might be in order...

I have a question for all while we're talking about HH. I've been trying to think of a way to secure my HH safely to my board and today I bought a magnetic lid door key hider/holder to attach to my board with the receiver velcroed on top and the ring tucked neatly inside. Seemed like a great idea til I realized....magnets! Ahhh!
Lol so will I have problems if I use this??

Ok, so in your example, the OFD is in, say, loop 1 and the Orbital would be in, say, loop 2? So even though though they're connected by midi, they can still be in separate loops...the light bulb is getting brighter. Thanks!

Ok. So what I'm getting is that if I want to be lazy and just use my MIDI patch scenes without dealing with on and offing the loops I can just string them on the same loop and go with the scenes and add my other pedals on other loops or separate the SB2 pedals loops as I want, turn them all on for scene easy playing or have the option of using scenes created specifically for songs and use a partial scene without a particular pedal/loop and kick it in as needed for a chorus or bridge or special part of a song. That's a whole 'nuther set of options I never did think of. Wow. Talk about endless option! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Here's what I came up with...
Input into PEQ to Compressor all the time
Into Blender to Iguana Tail Looper,
Loop1 Manta/HH3
Loop 2 Dimension Rev
Loop 3 Orbital
Loop 4 MWBD to OFD
Loop 5 POG2 to Stereo Chorus

Gecko to HUB to 4- SB2 and PEQ and HH3 and DExP
Possible addition would be an A/B switch to use fretted and Fretless or my NS EUB and an EBG.

The OFD, Dimension Reverb and Programmable eq all played large parts in my surf/rock band's new record. Here's a song that features a lot of OFD Fuzz (Big PI model) at the intro and a bass break later in the song. Was going for a vintage, but meaty fuzz tone on this one. I'm not sure, but I think you have to choose one or the other- the Hothand or the Expression Pedal.
