Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Can't wait for that filter. It won't replace my Josh Wah, because it's amazing, but it will be a great addition. On a side note, I've had the Ventris at home now for about a week on loan from work and it's the best Reverb I've used. It's gonna be a while before I can afford one, but it will definitely be on my board.

The tracking is the main thing. Without that it doesn’t matter what it sounds like. I tried some cool stuff at NAMM this year but most of it was not tracking well, so they become noisy glitch boxes. I know Nathan was claiming the Spectrum wasn’t tracking as good as it will be once finished but it still tracked WAY better than any other synth I heard this week.

That being said, the thickness and quality of the sound was leaps and bounds beyond expectations. The second tone Nathan had was such a huge blown away moment for me, I was smiling behind the camera. It doesn’t quite come through as think as I heard it, but I had to high pass the video a bit to get rid of the room noise rumble, so it only sounds better in person, not the other way around.

So that's the Spectrum, which is "just" a filter, right? Sounds absolutely amazing. At least when Nathan plays it. :thumbsup:

So what is the C4 in comparison? All that and synthesis too? Totally different?

Both the same pedal, it has synth sound and controls, I think the Spectrum Intelligent Filter is the name to cover all ground

Sound number 2 is so good, it could make for a legendary product all by itself.

I think where some of us are getting confused is that SA has said there will indeed be two pedals (which could obviously change, of course:

The current plan is to release two pedals: an Envelope Filter (the Spectrum Intelligent Filter) and a Guitar and Bass Synthesizer.

Yeah, it's going to be two pedals in the same way that the Aftershock/Kingmaker/LA Lady are three versions of the same pedal.

@rsmith601 is the name/design of the other pedal set yet? I'm aware of the prototype name.

I think there are two pedals but they are just focused on different features. Both pedals are able to utilise all functionality with the editor. Just like the drive and modulation pedals. So buy one get both. Clearly the Spectrum has the best paint job. :)

This is the plan:
1) One pedal with controls and factory sounds that are envelope filter centric. Out of the box you get an envelope filter pedal.
2) One pedal with controls and factory sounds that are synth centric. We will be strongly encouraging people to use the Neuro stuff to create/browse/publish sounds.
BOTH of these pedals can share all sounds between them. Pick the one with the better default controls for what you want. Or, pick the one with the better color. Or, pick with one with Dumpling on it!!

So the hardware is identical for both? I could have a filter on one preset and a synth on another, and recall both on the same gig without additional hardware? :jawdrop: drool :hyper:
