I have some info on 1/8 cables to link your pedals to the hub and such. I ordered from CABLE MART. Here is the part #(FS-4CT-01-90) for the 1.5' cable. They also offer 3', 6', and 6'' I think. I ordered a bunch for my board. The 3'(FS-4CT-03-90) was only $1.39! The 1.5' (FS-4CT-01-90) was $1.24! I ordered a few of each to set up my board. They work perfect and seem good quality. Hope it helps.
that's the thing .... after tweaking it so much, and saving it each time, it's hard to know exactly where each knob is fixed!!
other than the Mod Source and the Type knob ... i can't tell exactly!!
aren't they working on a way to save up settings and share them ??? or at least to see them on the screen or something ?
Isn't there any feedback from the LEDs or anything ? I know that with sans amp pedals that save presets, the LED blinks at a rate that tells you if the knob is on the same setting as the preset value for that knob.

I believe there is a way to "recover" your values from the presets, but I have not tried it. The LEDs won't be any help, the LEDs really only tell you which modes/parameters you are on.
There is definitely a way to find out what your settings are. I'm pretty sure it's in the manuals.

Knob position recall is in all the SB2 models. It is in the manual. Knob recall is in all the Pros, except the BEF Pro.

Since the MANTA preset values can differ from the physical knob positions, it may be useful to determine nd the positions of the preset knob values. To start the process, put the pedal in bypass mode and set all the knobs to their full counter-clockwise positions. Next, enable the preset, and slowly turn each knob up one at a time, until the preset indicator LED begins to blink rapidly. This rapid blinking indicates that the current position of the knob matches the saved value. "

How do you like running the compressor before the BEF pro? I've been toying with the idea of getting one and wondered if it would work better before or after.
Tbh, I haven't moved it around yet. I went with what I read here TB, and Ovnilabs and put it right after the tuner. It's my latest pedal, and believe it or not my first compressor. I keep it set 4:1, with a slower attack and release, it seems to do well with evening my sound onstage so I'm happy with it so far. However, since you brought it up, I'll have to experiment with moving it. I was more interested in how most people chain the MWBD Pro and BEF Pro? I have many questions on these two fantastic units, which the answers are already here, I'm sure, so I will search and read a while before I ask anything else...
So do you mean after the mwbd? or at the end of the chain? I'm moving the m87 around. the only reason I had it first was I read the OC-2 reacts better with a compressor before it offering a "evened out" signal. However, all of this is experimental (and fun), so everyone's ideas are considered and appreciated.
Great advice, moved the m87 to the end of the chain. The MWBD is quite a bit more responsive to dynamics, especially when "digging in" with a foldback distortion, crazy insane good stuff!
I now really think what I read about placing the m87 just before the Boss OC-2 isn't that important. Although I'll remain placing the OC-2 at the front so it sees the Bass first. It seems to track much better there. I feel this is what is most important for the OC-2 now that I've made this change.
Next I will try to move the m87 in between the MWBD and BEF Pro. Two reasons for this, considering all that I've read about is, (1) a buffered pedal at the end of the chain is preferred for the best signal to the amp, and (2) A compressor before the BEF Pro helps it with a even signal. In theory it sounds good, but it might just as well be that the buffer thing doesn't make any big difference. If the last pedal is truebypass and the one before that is buffered, then there's de facto a buffer at the end.
I've experienced that the quak of some envelope filters sometimes may be much louder than the overall sound that is dialled in. I don't know about the BEF, but compressors after it can do good limiting jobs. But maybe this isn't the case with the Source Audio.
What I try to do is to compress before an octaver (so, if I try to emulate a synth and use a distortion with it, the signal will already be compressed) and/or use a limiter at the end of the chain to even out peaks (notably from a envelope filter or touch wah)...
FYI, there is a new "simple" midi controller on the market. Disaster Area DMC-2+ Beyond the ability to do simple program changes, it should also have the ability to send tap tempo and/or expression pedal messages. I don't have proper switch to try the tap tempo functionality, but even if it doesn't work out of the box, the guys at Disaster Area are capable of tinkinering with the firmware to make it compatible with the Hub.
