It is indeed a MIDI controller prototype. For a hard core analog guy, John K. knows a lot about digital!
I think you could have just said John K. knows a lot.
If it's bass related there are very few guys that have the depth of knowledge that John does.
Back on topic, I think it's a very natural progression to see you guys making an SA midi controller. Very cool stuff.
I know this has been covered, just toooooo much reading. I am using a voodoo labs pedal power 5. I am now using 4 Source audio pedals, midi moose, hub, tuner, and TLC compressor. Do you think the PP5 can handle it all? I think the pedals are 200amh? Any advice is welcome. I have been using the supplied power supplies but want to go more compact. Also how about the 1-spot or Power-all?? Thanks in advance!
All pedals are 140mA (180 with hot hand), all ISO-5 outputs are 100 mA except one? I don't think it'll work very well. I upgraded to a 4x4 and it works perfectly for me. A 1-spot might work since it's 1700mA max, so you'd have plenty of room to grow with that, but then you deal with possible ground loops (common with digital pedals) and noise associated with a non-isolated power supply.
Here is my current board set up minus a 3Leaf audio enabler when I get some extra cash. I was thinking of keeping the voodoo labs pp5 and just get a 1-spot or power all just for the Source Audio pedals, and power all other pedals with the pp5. I have some decisions to make again LOL!

All true, but let's not give him TOO much credit for being the third person in five posts to guess it was MIDI-related.
I started running into some noise issues when running a bunch of the SA pedals off a onespot. My entire board is powered by a Cioks DC10 (a pedal power 4x4 is a good match as well).
The one spot will probably keep you going, but I would make a goal to replace it all with a more advanced power supply at some point. Always sucks spending money on "utility" stuff, but it pays off in the end.

I already "liked" your post but I had to emphasize this line. I couldn't agree more. I'm not saying to buy the most expensive diamond-encrusted cables or anything like that, but there is a reason the dedicated power supplies are so much more expensive than a bunch of 1spots.

I found with a OneSpot, I had to be careful with the order of effects. Some orders generated noise. With the isolated power supply, the order didn't matter.

That is what I am doing at the moment. I used small zip straps and tied all the cables together every few inches to keep it neat. Just way too bulky with 5 of them. I am looking for a clean set up and quick at the same time.

Meh. Too few options. I need my expression pedals to calculate the gravitational pull of the moon at the very least.
Is there an upgrade plan for a flux capacitor down the line? I would love for the option to send a note back in time for when I miss that off-beat cue from my drummer
