Planning to buy some midi controller alongside C4 to be able to access all the plentitude of presets available on tap.

This is my first shot at this kind of devices.

Would thing like a Tech21 MIDI Mouse do? I'm looking for as small device as possible

The DMC Micro is the smallest and easiest way to unlock the 128 presets in the C4. We worked with them to make the out of the box experience relatively easy.

I am thinking about replacing my midi mouse with the DMC.micro. I'm not able to find out that the micro can do fast scrolling though which would mean I'd have to tap up to 60 times to the higher up presets? Or does it actually do fast scrolling?

Its a good question. If I find out, I will let you know. I think that Matt from DAD is here? Not sure of his TB user name.

C4 is live on Sweetwater finally. Mine arrives on Thursday!!!!!!!

Thanks for the notice. I ordered mine on my phone as soon as I saw. It will be here tomorrow.

Tuner -> SpectraComp bass compressor -> C4 -> Aftershock -> Mercury -> Nemesis -> looper -> DI/amp​

Is that the recommended placement for the compressor?

The compressor will affect your dynamics and therefore the responsiveness of the envelope. In an ideal world you'd have one compressor before and one after. I personally use my (also Spectracomp) compressor after the C4 (and previously the manta) and have had great results.

Enjoying this so far! The audio quality is insanely good. The patches sound like they are straight out of a synth keyboard.

I still have yet to go through user presets, but I imagine there’s some amazing stuff to be found.

There are some short bits on the SA instagram account. Keep in mind this thing was just officially released today and the small run of prototypes were only released a week or two back.

Just read this tidbit in the C4 manual:

USB Port - Class compliant USB-MIDI allows the C4 to work as a plug-and-play device with recording software running on Mac and Windows recording software or any third party MIDI controller with USB host. The USB port also offers connectivity to the Neuro Desktop Editor providing access to deep editing possibilities and pedal firmware updates.

Am I correct in thinking that perhaps that means the C4 can be MIDI controlled via USB from a compliant device (other than a computer)? Like a Line 6 HX Effects, for instance?

I would be a little surprised if the Line6 floor units could be run in host mode, but I'm not sure.

Sweetwater already packed and shipped, and they're pretty close by, so I'll have it tomorrow or the day after.

I'm hoping 6 presets will be enough, because I don't want to add a controller on.

When can I make presets in the Neuro app?

The only MIDI controller we know of that works in Host Mode are the Disaster Area products.
