Will pick up a one spot. Received an e-mail from guitar center with a $30 e-cert so will be close to free. Even if it doesn't work out for this, will be worth having.

Also just ordered a dimension reverb, so will be looking forward to getting that in.

So got the one spot, and also picked up an Orbital. Tried everything out today, 5 SA pedals, PEQ, Hub and a tech 21 Midi-Moose, all powered by the one spot. Worked great!

I run the midi moose also with the hub, manta, ofd, multidistortion, and orbital. works great. One question? in the editor can't seem to adjust amount of level change on an effect with the pedal or hot hand with editor? Anyone have some input.

Hi Jaybass

To control the Output with the Hot Hand or expression pedal you can setup it up in the Pedal itself (Press and Hold "HH" --> LED will blink slowly --> Set Minimum Output Level --> Press "HH" again --> LED will blink faster --> Set Maximum Output Level), or in the Hub Manager Software.

It's important to notice if the calibration settings are correct. To check these please click on "Show Additional Controls". I've attached a screenshot bellow which shows standard settings for minimum and maximum values, depth, smoothing and calibration. One way you can reset these quickly is by calling up one of our presets.

Is there a new ETA on the Digital Expression Pedal, a.k.a. the Reflex according to the Tone Report interview with Bob and Jesse?

Thanks, I didn't notice it in the bottom tool bar. Perfect!! I will also check the calibration.

I placed the first production order in mid July. I suspect we are still about 2 months away. If you like generating expression control signals.....this will blow you mind! (I hope this over the top comment does not get me into trouble in the "those who have tried company XXX thread"!)

Cool. I have a few questions. Basically, I like the idea and feel (form factor/treadle action) of the Dual Expression Pedal except for a few issues, which I have detailed in this thread before. I am wondering if these are addressed in the Reflex.

(1) Will you be able to calibrate the max/min of the pedal for all outputs, even the analog outputs? This is the biggest thing keeping me from using the DEP with my Eventide units, where I want to be able to go all the way to zero (but the DEP is not at zero in heel position unless you apply extra pressure or mod the rubber stoppers).
(2) Will the dipswitches have modes for 50k stereo (Boss/Behringer), 25k mono (Eventide), and 10k mono (Line6)?
(3) Will there be shorter, pedalboard-friendly screws?

Absolutely

?
There will be 1x 50K and 2x 10K. You can go stereo, mono, reverse, and CV mode on each. 50K mono will cover Eventide.
(3) Will there be shorter, pedalboard-friendly screws
?
Oh, yes. Big time!

Thanks! This brings to mind a few more questions if you don't mind...

(1) At 50k mono on Eventide, I could calibrate the expression pedal toe position to simulate 25k, correct? Although if there is only one, I might use that for something else and use MIDI for the Eventides.
(2) Can the 10k be used into the Hub, or does that require 50k? (If one already has an HH3 so the HH3 port is taken. Full disclosure, I do not own a Hub...yet.)
(3) Are there any restrictions on the combinations of outputs that can be used? For example on the DEP the sensor output and one of the 1/4" outputs can't be used together (without modifying the output of the latter, IIRC).

Basically I'm hoping there is a way for me to go:
MIDI --> Eventides
50k stereo --> Behringer BSY600
10k mono --> Line6
??? --> yet to be purchased Hub

50k should work okay with the Eventide. We will recheck but I’m 99% sure that we already tested it. Yes, MIDI is an option too.
All of the outputs are completely independent and can all be configured separately. The only downside to this is that it can get a little tough to keep track of. There will be a software editor as well for viewing and editing.

Here are the outputs available, there are 7 total. Again, all independent.
- 3 digital – MIDI and MIDI over USB. The MIDI outputs are duplicated on the USB-MIDI input. It’s class compliant.
- 3 analog expression outputs – currently 10k, 10k, 50k. 10k really covers most of everything. 50k can be used for those few exceptions like the BSY6000
- 1 sensor output for connections to SA sensor or multifunction inputs.

I know we don't do classic dirt boxes in classic housings with well known circuits and cool paint jobs.......but someone needs to keep the likes Gadget Junky from getting restless!

Sorry but I don't understand---what's the third?

So if you have a Hub and an HH3, I thought you needed to use one of the analog outputs into the Hub, with the HH3 taking up the multifunction port on the Hub. If so, can you use 10k? Or am I misunderstanding something?

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we are thankful for that!

I wasn't going to (or so I said) but the temptation got too strong so now I'm joining the ranks of SA users with a Hub, Manta and Orbital Modulator. To begin with - I fear there will be an urge to add to this lineup. :)

Compared to my current pedals these are not exactly plug and play though, they are quite deep, so I'll have to take some time to figure out the best way of using them, and create a couple of patches.

To make tweaking the parameters a little easier I made a controller page for each pedal in Midi Designer on my iPad and hooked that up to the Hub. (Manta screendump, Orbital Modulator screendump). The pedal on the right is a Dunlop volume/expression pedal. I should get some kind of Midi Mouse-like controller too, but that can wait until I have decided to use the pedals with the band. I'll add some presets and program change buttons on the iPad to simulate that. The SA Hub Manager is of course the real deal and where I'll probably build the final patches, but for quick experiments a touch screen like the iPad is nicer.

So, this is my setup for exploring the whats and hows of the pedals.

I don't need to tape over the names of any of your pedals because the kids are around or playing at church and the pastor asked why I had phonetically relettered bad words or satanic symbols on them. Just sayin'. Thanks.

I haven't been around that much lately, mainly because I'm extremely satisfied with my gear. I bought a couple new pedals last month, but barely played them and now they're listed. Only thing I'm really looking forward to is the next SA controller, but I probably don't need it.

Of course just as I get really satisfied with my gear my band comes to an end. Thankfully we had one last gig before my guitarist moved to Atlanta.

I will be joining this society today - Manta and OFD on the truck with Hub, Orbital and Dimension on order. These and a couple other faves will be replacing an M13 that I've been using for years.

Question for those 'in the know' regarding the midi switcher -

Is the 4-button prototype posted on page 52 the form factor that will be manufactured? Meaning - four presets available before changing banks?

Also - will this be available in 2014? Any ballpark idea of a price point? I've been leaning toward the Midi Buddy for price, size, and 10 presets available per bank. But will wait to make a decision until I know as much information as possible.

I think it could only help to keep the midi switcher in the family of SA products.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this. I was preoccupied with reading the Vertex thread in the Gear Page. That situation is proof to me that a vast majority of people who think they hear things don't know what they are talking about. Smeet's phaser shootout and the Vertex story indicate a vast swath of the analog boutique pedal market is BS.

At least when you buy SA you know you are getting 100% non-analog non-boutique. Ultra-Pure digital tone right from Bob and Jesse's lab with no marketing mojo!

OK, now back to serious topics:
The 3 digital outputs are really 3 MIDI channels over either the MIDI physical interface or the USB physical interface.

If you are using this device with the Hub, you could use either the 10K expression out, or you could use MIDI.

Isn't the Dual Expression pedal analog? ;)
