interesting. It seems to save both banks at the same time when you save a preset mid-morph. Example 3-6 mid morph, I had to move a band on the eq, morph orange'ish led starts to blink, held down 2-4 preset button and it copied 3 to 2 and 6 to 5 presets all at once. Exact copies, but not the mid morph you were hoping for. Sorry.

Experiment performed on MWBD Pro. Careful, this wipes out presets quick

Yeah, I just thought it would be a really practical use for the morphing feature you have. To be able to save a sound that's 80% tube screamer and 20% fuzz face etc. would make it so a player was almost fundamentally designing his own distortion sounds without having to have much technical knowledge.

Or to put it another way, I think the real advantage of the morphing thing would be being able to get between sounds, more than being able to get from one sound to another.

You guys do really cool stuff! Keep it up :)

I agree that capturing a morph would be useful. But I can see where copying both banks at the same time is also useful. It would be interesting to know if that was intentional or some kind of unexpected result??

I'm just glad someone else is interested in the Classic Pro. It's a screamin' pedal that will change your life. Well, it's really really good. I could go on and on.

edit: you know it's pretty easy to adjust the expression pedal to be at mid-morph at heel position. Or send a CC midi to it to essentially have hundreds of presets! Have you seen those tiny expression knobs?

The Classic and the Classic Pro are the most overlooked pedals in our product line up. It is baffling.

This is an excellent question. I was wondering what would happen if you had the HH3 set to send a processed sensor out signal into a Pro pedal, would that override the backpage setting or would things just go heywire?

But in Willbassyeah case I'm going to guess that X is always X and Y is always Y no matter how you set the HH3. Essentially you are telling it what 2 Axis you want to send out. Note the text in the manual says that future products may use all 3 axis!!

Willbassyeah, the BEF Pro (and SB2?) only uses 1 axis, so the real trouble may be if you have the HH3 sensor out set to Z-X and you were trying to use the Y axis. Man this can get confusing. Are you really linking your pedals. I have 3 Pros daisy chained, but with the original HH and the HH3 is hooked up to my M5.

I think if the clean blend was made more obvious (I was aware of this pedal since it came out but only realized it had clean blend when GadgetJunky mentioned it the other day), and if it was in soundblox2 format, bass players might be all over this stompbox.

The gain-then-mid-then-gain-then-EQ thing I think also has major benefits that aren't obvious to people. It takes some thought to realize that by boosting the mids with the mid knob before the second gain stage and then cutting the mids after that gain stage with the eq, one could make the mids 'flat' but more distorted than the highs and lows. Or that conversely by cutting the mids before gain and boosting them back to compensate after gain, one could have flat mids that are cleaner than the lows and highs. This puts the classic pro in the same class as the vfe triumvirate, iron ether qf2 etc., but I don't think people realize this, because the classic pro never gets mentioned in conversations about multi-band distortion. Though this could all be achieved without the pre-mid gain stage. Another way of doing the same thing, but in a way that might be easier for people to understand, would be to make the eq effect the dirty signal only. This way boosting frequencies would make them dirtier and cutting them would make them cleaner when clean blend is used.

Yea, the blend thing is very workable. I'm want to make a Will sytle video hopefully over the weekend to try and get some focus on its capabilities or at least how I use it. The power of the gain stages is really quite amazing. I can't get anywhere close to the in-your-face distortion on the Multiwave like the Classic can. Basically I can make my bass sound like a guitar playing chords on the upper 2 strings, then click over to a deep, blended fuzz. The sustain is incredible. And even with the gains just pegged.....absolutely no hissssss.

I've recently been peppering talkbass with suggestions for the Classic pro, but I'm still pretty new to all the pedals and most people here are die-hard analog dirt users. I tried going that route, but I just couldn't afford to buy 10 different pedals searching for the one that had the sound I needed. I knew I needed a guitar pedal, but with that I was finding the need for noise gate, eq and blending. Plus I needed at least 2 different dirt setups, possibly 3. Now if you add an eq and/or blend to each of those your pedal board starts getting big quick. Total leap of faith going for the Classic Pro when everyone else was getting the Multiwave. 10 seconds after plugging in I knew I found the Holly Grail of distortions (for me). Over a year later and I'm still as giddy as the first day I got the Classic Pro and have recently stacked it with the BEF Pro and now a Multiwave and things just keep getting better.

Edit: And yes, there will need to be a SB2 version if you guys want me to totally convert to SB2 format :)

Definately daisy chain those!! One more thing: I've asked this before and maybe we'll get an anwser, but my guess is that the SB2 pedals use the first axis listed in the configure table in the instructions. So if you want to use the "Y" axis with signal processing in a SB2, set to (Knobs:green/red - Mode:red). Is this correct?

Hi Folks.

This seems to be the best place to ask this. Im going to get this out the way first but its not a Timmy c tone question. I play in a rage against the machine tribute band. My pedal chain is:

Tuner->-Dod Milk Box->-Bass Muff->-ODB-3->-Dunlop Bass Wah->-beringer dd600.

I have seen the very famous video of nathan naverro using the hot hand and doing his dubstep thing. First time I saw it I thought he was using magic to play the bass. Seriously. Ive looked into the souce audio equipment he uses too. I got to thinking how could I use in my band. Im trying to stand out a bit from the other bands, not just rage tributes, but generally.

Do you think it would be possible for me to use the envelope filter + hot hand without the source audio bass distortion?

Just I like the distiortion and drive I have (hence running two separate pedals) but i cant really justify a third drive pedal. As its well discussed timmys tone is unachiveable so I took what I could get and its close enough. Im often complemented on it.

Just im thinking it may be quite impressive if i can play calm like a bomb with the hot hand. Ive seen folk mention that they give the controller out to someone they know in the auidence to control the wah. I like that idea.

Is it do-able does anyone think?

It will totally work with a different distortion/fuzz, even better if you have an octave up/down stacked before it too.

And your Hot Hand idea sounds fun too, that may have been me that suggested that. I also like the HH attached to the headstock.
