You guys are a horrible influence on my Wallet-Opening Abilities. Orbital just went on the board, OFD arriving Tuesday, inches away from pulling the trigger on a Dimension Reverb... I have no need for a Manta, and now I really want a Manta...>.<

The terrible thing? It's so reasonably priced I'll probably add it to the collection for the hell of it. All of that beastyness for the price of one average pedal

Should be getting my manta on Monday. I downsized to a PT-1 (and now to a PT Mini) to curb my pedal buying and to have less to carry. I've been rocking a Xerograph deluxe instead of my big old BEF Pro mostly to save space, but I've really missed it!

Quick two questions guys. I am about to pull the trigger on a manta but I want to make sure that my favorite features of the bef pro are still there.

First, does the filter speed knob have the same range as the pro? I loved how you could make the filter sweep really slow with the pro. I just loved how much range that parameter has on the pro.

Second, is the meatball emulation still included in the filter choices. That is one funky sounding filter.

I own both the manta and pro and IMO, the filter speed control works the same way and seems to have the same range,

the manta knocked my meatball off the board since, IMO, it does everything the MB can do and more.

Manual filter sweeps with the expression pedal, built in drive (which is nuts by the way), and eventual Midi scene saving ability.

Ordered a BEF pro, second one I will have had. The first one seemed to have some issues, powering down, trouble saving presets, etc. I bought it used and never contacted the SA folks about having it looked at. The one on it's way is used as well, got it for a very good price, so hoping that it's issue free.
Thought about getting the Manta, but I really just need a good filter, already have the overdrive stuff covered with a mwbd sb2. Wish me luck, hoping this one turns out to be a keeper!

So, question for Manta users...it sounds like the Manta is already a pretty great synth? I know synth waveforms and sounds have some fundamental differences with dirt->filter, but this really seems like it can be possibly the greatest faux-synth pedal out there. Is the pedal still worth it if that's the main task you want it for?
