Can anyone tell me the precise difference between the Soundblox 2 MWD and MWBD?

I accidentally bought a regular SB2 MWD instead of the bass version... :/

EQ on the MWD is shifted up an octave. There is a build in compressor. It is not possible to blend in any clean signal. You want to be able to do that last thing! Return it and get the MWBD

I thought so.:bawl:

I got it off Ebay all sales final. T_T

It's brand new so I guess I'll just have to sell it and use the money to buy the MWBD.

I assume the good gentlemen of Source Audio couldn't help me out of this pickle? :hiding:

hah! used the BEF Pro/Ring tonight at a gig on a sorta dubsteppy intro thing we do. got asked afterwards about it by a bunch of musicians/nerds in the audience.

"what was the theremin thing you were doing?"

"dood. blue light. WASSAT?"

"what made your synth sound?"

i run it IE Oxide -> BEF Pro -> M9 Octaver -> M9 Ring Mod. so ****ing ANGRY.

You played a gig.................for people??

I played last night, but only to Potato Chips and Moustache Comb (Wax stayed in the bathroom all night sniffing pills).....

:atoz: They didn't ask any questions.........only asked me to turn down...........

Well try it out, aand see if you like it anyway. There was some famous bassist, can''t recall who, but he preferred the MWD over the MWBD. If you runt it in an fx loop on an amp or have a LS-2, you can blend in some clean and get the lowend back.

pushy *** moustache bomb. i don't like that guy.

yeah, it was our first show. kinda funny 'cause we booked a place that was a little divey and out of our area on purpose. first time my drummer's used his drum sampler/pad thing live, first time my singer's played keys and used the vocal pedals i got her live. so kinda wanted to play at a place that wouldn't have a bunch of friends and if we sucked it HORRIBLY we weren't crapping one out at a spot we wanted to come back to.

annnnnnnd about 30 friends came and there was a good hundred people there. so it ended up more fun and less clinical than we were hoping for. STOOPID NICE RESULTS.

gawd i missed gigging. rarrrrrrrr.

^This, for me, anyway. I couldn't get the MWBD to get as strong an effect as the MWD. If I run a hotter signal into the MWBD, it gets closer, but it still doesn't get there. I prefer the MWD with my LS-2 over the MWBD.

Billy Sheehan is also a fan of the non-bass version.

If you are really stuck, and the pedal is in really good shape.....I will have a talk to the head honcho over as SA and try to twist his arm......

How do you all like the control interface on SB2 models? Easy to use and understand? Powerful/flexible??

I love Billy Sheehan and his playing... never been a fan of his tone. haha. I could see the MWD working for what he likes though.

I'm looking to play more of a deeper tone for dubstep. So I feel the MWD probably won't suit me very well.

I suppose one is never "stuck". Like I said I can always resell it and buy a MWBD. but if you'd be willing to cut out the extra steps, I would greatly appreciate it.:p It's brand new. even had the new smell when I took it out of the box. I hooked it up just to make sure it worked,(and to test the effects for about 5 minutes) and that's it.

To answer one of your questions, at first I honestly wasn't a fan of the layout at a glance. I was a huge fan of the Pro versions moreso. But the more I watched Will's demos, I fell in love with the simplicity of the SB2 pedals. And for me I felt the Pro MWBD was too much for me. I don't personally feel I need 6 presets for distortion (may change my mind later). Obviously I haven't had any other experience with the pedal to properly answer the other questions though.

I do have the BEF Pro and absolutely love that, though. I couldn't imagine having any less than 6 presets for that pedal.

this is a crap recording of the only bit i used the HH/BEF Pro on the other day.......

it's the first 1.30 or so. kinda half written/half jam thing. lol. dunno why, but every band there the sound guy BURIED the vocals.

what vocal pedal do you give your singer was thinking of buying one for my gf, she is a singer haha

i got her two TC Heliotronics. the HM-1 and the Mic Mechanic. the HM-1 is a harmony pedal. pretty neat. does different intervals up or down. the Mic Mechanic is a reverb, or delay, or reverb and delay with a button that is s'posed to be a de-esser, comp and eq that reacts to your voice.

they're both pretty cool. good sound, simpler controls for people that aren't geeks about gear. the HM-1 is more of a Well THAT'S Weird effect, the MM can be more subtle.

The Mic Mechanic might be my next purchase. I don't like singing and don't want to, but everyone around me likes my friggin voice so I get pushed into it anyway. It would be cool to have a little bit of pitch-centering as well as the tone button...everyone complains that I don't cut through.

The HM-1 would be kinda cool to have, but honestly...every one of those harmonizers sound to me like a robot dressed up in a Shirley temple outfit.

Back To topic:

I have recently discovered that there are drastic differences in the way a HH/BEF works when a BSY600 has an expression pedal plugged into it. For a while I was just leaving the exp pedal plugged in and wobbling whatever signal happened but it was hard to get a firm control of it. It really pays to just leave it off or use it for something else entirely.

was thinking of getting the voicelive,

Btw can you actually do this with hot hand 3,

Hook the hot hand 3 sensor in with SA product, than hook the expression pedal input with another pedal?
and make it work at the same time?

Yep! The Hot Hand outputs can function simultaneously.

GadgetJunky, I added the BEFPro and HH to your Club #

A few questions about the Reverb. I only seem to get a good effect when I have the pedal almost all the way wet. I noticed on the demos, that this is not the case at all.

So I'm wondering two things. Is it possible that I have a defective pedal or is this pedal really picky about signal chain?

Also, is it typical that the Source Audio pedals reset the settings every time they are powered off?
