Source Audio Spectrum Inteligent Filter!!!

Does this pedal have a down-sweep envelope filter option? So far, all the demos I seen/heard only demonstrate the up sweep.

Absolutely!! In fact, there are 2 envelopes, 2 filters, and you could have one sweep up and the other sweep down.

From one filter junkie to another, you need this thing! I have the C4, and it is the deepest filter I’ve ever owned! And so much more!

OOOOO...I love the dual filter thang!:woot:
One of the sounds I keep tinkering with is my 'ultimate dream xtreme BassBalls' for the C4, keeping in mind the Spectrum too. The EHX BassBalls is my all time favorite defect pedal so I must do it to purrfection. Once perfected I will gladly share.

The funny thing is that I don't care for the Bassballs sound, but I do love the right up/down filter sweep combo.

My current favorite is Jacques Trinity Wah (which only does up sweep in envelope mode) into EHX Q-Balls set to a very shallow down sweep.

Just spent the day at the guitar/bass show in central London. Lots of things I could have bought but just one thing I HAD to buy. Spent a lot of money on Pigtronics' Motherhood six months ago because it did a little bit of what I wanted and lots of other impressive things. Then today I find that the Intelligent Filter does EXACTLY what I want plus lots of other impressive things. There should be a help line for people like me.

Another envelope filter addict here, I've tried or owned 38 filters now. :D Working on a sound in the C4 to replicate my all time fav, the Bass Envelope Phaser. Darn close, will upload it to the Borg Mind when ready.

Looking forward to your take on it. I hadn't gotten that far yet, as I was working on the BEP sound. If you're a Bassballs fan, check out the Ashdown Type 23. Not cheap, but does BassBalls better than both of my BassBalls. (Russian and Nano).

EDIT: Apologies, I thought I was replying in the main S.A.S.S. thread... But I guess it still sorta applies here?

5sg.

Hi,

I have a Source Audio Manta and I want to upgrade it to the Spectrum. Is the new pedal able to do EVERYTHING the Manta does? I have some very particular presets that I want to keep, and the reason why I still have the Manta is because I don't know if I can replicate them on the Spectrum.

Thanks in advance to everyone!

It will do everything the Manta does, but much better, and much, much more. There is a learning curve compared to the Manta, but once you learn how to create on this thing, the possibilities are pretty endless.

My ONLY issue with previous SA filters I've owned is that when I play legato notes (notes that overlap each other a bit) or chords, the filter sweep goes from "wow wow" to "woh woh" when I go back to separate single notes. No other envelope filter I've used does that. I've read that other musicians have experienced the same thing (YMMV).

Playing "clean" and always keeping the notes separate is not an option, because some of the passages I play would lose their feel if I didn't play them legato. Can anyone who's had this issue with previous SA filters confirm that the Intelligent Filter has resolved this?
