Source Audio Synth Pedal

Frankly, if it's anywhere near as good as the Markbass SS and gets the support that we know SA always delivers (an advantage that the SS didn't have) I will buy it. If I have to move up to a PT-3 or PT-Pro. I'll do it.
To me the 3 best synth pedals are, in no particular order :
Akai Deep Impact
Good : excellent tracking and sensibility adjustments, ability to browse between stored patches handless, editing on the fly, massive instantly usable tones
Bad : No control over the content of presets, ie no deep editing to select waves and number of oscillators and filters, no expression pedal (if Source, Hot Hand is a must), no computer link
Markbass Super Synth
Good : editing possibilities with dedicated software, great tone, solid and quick tracking, portamento (a must), detuners everywhere
Bad : Stock presets are crappy, only one waveform, no way to completely suppress clean tone from bass, no adjusting of tones without computer, no expression pedal, lack of any firmware update to fix minor issues.
EHX Bass Micro Synth
Good : incredibly versatile, mostly through the fix filter possibilities, editing on the fly through dedicated sliders, uniquely rich and warm tone
Bad : wobbly and gargly, unpredictable (these can be considered qualities for certain styles), no expression pedal (can you see a trend?), no real clean blend, no preset storage, eratic triggering, misses at least one real wave generator.
I may add that the 3 units are sturdily built and reliable.
Put all that in your pipe Source Audio, smoke it and let's see what comes out. I agree with the general sentiment that if somebody can pull it out it's you.

I've been looking for a synth pedal for a while, the only two which got my attention were Deep impact (not enough to break my daughter's pig-coin

Ok, So I had a little fun thinking what this would look like in a Pro form. Everyone else here knows more about the actaul functions and inner workings of what a synth pedal needs, but this is an interface idea I had last night looking at my SA pedals and a drawing is just easier to understand than a mile of text.

So there is an LCD screen so that you can have pages of parameters, I have 3 pages with 8 controls with a possibility of 24 different parameters, but there could be more. Next to the rotary dial for each parameter is a button that can assign the Expression pedal, Hot Hand, LFO or nothing to each parameter.
On the bottom of the LCD you could identify what page you are one and what the 3 preset footswitches are currently set to. The Bank Up and Bank Down buttons should really be footswitches, but maybe that's just adding something like a Midi Mouse for those how will need more than 3 presets in one song.
Obviously there could be more controls or combinations of button presses like pressing the center rotary dial brings up the Main Menu or EQ??

Right, the color. SA has used just about every other color already. Color is irrelevant.

I am not concerned about color in the least, I would rock that in a heartbeat. Pretty much the perfect interface right there, it could really allow the pedal to grow through software updates.
I would take 6 presets if I had to with that much control (although I would hope for 9 in an update

This interface could have unlimited presets (memory limited only) because of the 'banks'. Just like most other pedals like this work, and you could name presets (see bottom of LCD)
And then once they get their pitchtracking software figured out they can release a stand alone pitch shifting/octave pedal in the EQ or SB2 format.
Okay, then the MidiMouse comment makes more sense to me. I was wondering if that was what you meant as I typed that.

I hope SA responds to it. I imagine with all the talk about running out of room for simple adds to the code in the other Pro pedals, this may not be easily possible, but what if?
An engineer/designer has already responded on the first page, I am sure we will get more responses.
Lot's of great ideas so far, but also think integration with other SA pedals, so an HH "out" to drive params on one other pedal, or for real junkies, on the HH controller (which could then be routed to a number of other HH pedals, etc).
Don't they already do this? I just bought the daisy chain cable and have my BEF Pro and Classic pro sharing one HH and I think I would just link to any new SA pedal.
What I don't know is the multi function out on SB2 pedals the same at the sensor out on non-SB2 pedals? I think you can daisy chain HH with all SA pedals, but not the midi? Hopefully the midi adapter will come out soon and the manuals will get updated.
Yes, I think it is a common "Pro" feature, but I think very important for a Synth Pedal.
