Kaufman is by far my favorite. I know he's kinda shying away from bass work since he's focusing on live sound. He did the entire neck de-fret and epoxy on my Jaco tribute. I think he's the best, but I had to wait 6 months to get it. It was worth it and means a lot that Jaco's guy did my Jazz bass.
I'm getting ready to start using this place in pompano. I will let you know. Just be forewarned that the main amp guy is rather terse. Not much of a people person.
Looking for a good tech...
Where in pompano? What's the name of the business?
Thanks..

See if Jimmy Hamiltone is still at Alpha Kinetix in Pompano. His work was outstandingReviving an old thread - any recommended luthiers to work on an electric upright bass in south Florida? (Ampeg Baby Bass).
I have reached out to Kevin multiple times and he either doesn't have the time or is not interested - he always says "I'll let you know", weeks pass by and I never hear back from him. I personally don't care if he can walk on water, I'm not a fan of this kind of behavior as I'm not asking for any favors and it's a service I would be paying for.
Staying tuned for recommendations. Thank you folks!![]()

You might mean Gary.I just called them, thank you. Gentleman by the name of Gerry answered and said that Jimmy is his friend and that Jimmy focuses mainly on builds (necks, etc.) at the moment and that he (Gerry) specializes on basses, particularly like the one I have; he even said he owns one in pristine condition. Ever heard of Gerry? He was nice and eager to help, and mentioned that they have been working on vintage instruments for 42 years.
